The horned people are merely people that no longer age due to... I forget why. They protect the forest, or something.

No details on the Ascians. They've said they'll revisit them in 2.0.

As for Leviathan? Not really, no. Every time your character tries to bring it up, everybody is like shush shush, no, you saw nothing.

I can't speak for the first one since I didn't play the Gridania storyline, but as for the others, they basically didn't go anywhere since the 7th Umbral Era storyline (GC quests) took over until the end of the game.

I want to say Reinheart translated a post about someone asking about the Ascians (these were also mentioned in the LL storyline) and the rep said they will explain about them in ARR.

Leviathan will obviously be in ARR due to the concept art floating around, but I don't know if the story involving Leviathan will be the same as was intended for 1.0. There was always whisperings about him from NPCs in the LL story, but nothing much ever came of it.

It seems there was a huge disconnect in the city-based main storylines just due to the incompleteness of the game. It seems like the platform for the main story was to work somewhat like how it did in FFXI where you did some missions for your home nation, learned a bit what was going on there, then the attention turned to the beastmen and the Shadow Lord.

Once you defeated the Shadow Lord, the rank missions continued with the major storyline going on with your home nation. It feels like this was what they were going for in FFXIV, but it never came into fruition. In the case of the LL storyline, there was some political things going on in the background with one person trying to overthrow the Admiral, but there was also the threat of the Sahagin. (of whom we never even saw a glance of) Before things could go any further with that storyline, you were ushered off to Ul'Dah to take place in the Path of the Twelve story. (kind of like how you were eventually sent to Jeuno in FFXI to deal with the beastmen/Shadow Lord threat)

I don't necessarily wish for them to 100% copy the stories intended for 1.0, (I wouldn't mind if they did though) but I do hope they touch on some of the major plot points that they left unfinished, such as Leviathan and the Sahagin in the case of the LL storyline, and also the Ascians, which were briefly mentioned in the LL storyline and was seen in the Path of the Twelve storyline.

Same here, and I think some things will fall to the wayside, but I'm pretty confident whatever storylines they come up with in ARR will be pretty good regardless. It will be interesting entering the new world and see how much the storyline corresponds to the old one. Depending if they totally re-wrote everything, it may just be better to forget the old stories ever happened. We'll just have to wait and see.

You will notice that the quest giver for the White Mage quests is one such horned child, you notice that the leader of the Twin Adders is also a horned woman, albeit adult.

They are the Seedseers, spiritual (And as of right now being forced into becoming the civic and military) leaders of Gridania and chosen of the Elementals.

At least that is what experience I have through the WHM quests tell me (totes an Ul'Dah/Flames guy)

the horned people are like the religious dictators (although they are generally good ppl) of gridania. they commune with the elementals and build the hedge which is a man-made magical construct to protect the forest.

The ascians will be part of 2.0

And Leviathan is the primal of the sahagin i believe, which are at war with limsa lominsa. They are -supposed- to be in some of the current zones (like the dungeon by bloodshore) but were never implemented (lore/npcs/leves say they are there)

Also the Sahagin inhabit various islands around la noscea

The ppl in limsa however believe that leviathan is a mythical seamonster and not necessarily real. Ppl also don't like you talking about it.

1.) E-Sumi-Yan, he is a padjal which are a group of very powerful conjurers that have been blessed by the elementals. They cease aging, and horns sprout from the place on their head that has come into contact with the elemental. The leader of Gridania, Kan-E-Senna is also a padjal.

2.) In the Limsa Lominsa story, Y'shtola talks about the Ascians a bit, and hints that some humans are in league with them. From what she said, they are recognizable because they have no shadow.

3.) Yes, there was. It is said that one of the goddesses (I can't remember, I think Llymlaen) saw the barren world and created a serpent to fill it with water. When she realized the serpent would soon flood the world, she sealed it into an island, and set the island adrift so that it constantly changes locations. It is said that when the island reappears, the serpent will as well, and cause terrible disasters and great storms. The island (or so many npcs speculate over the storyline of LL) has returned in recent months as a place called "Seal Rock" and everyone in the storyline is fighting to take claim of it because of the vast treasure that is said to be there. Baldren said it happened once before in his lifetimes when he was a small child, though how long that is I can't really say. However, runes found on the island of an ancient Allagan dialect would seem to suggest something more behind the story of both Seal Rock and Leviathan himself...

E-sumi Yan and his cohort, O-app Pesi play a large part in the gridania storyline^^

Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
