Honestly; they just need to buff the auto-translate utility.

I can't fathom or process that some people don't appreciate such an incredible tool.
Here's a quotation from an MMO blogger that I've always agreed with:

"FFXI also benefits from one aspect that has yet to be duplicated by any other triple A title. All countries play on the same servers. There is no separation by region like every other MMO. You may think this would be a double edged sword, however FFXI includes an auto-translate function for key phrases and components allowing people from all over the world to group and raid together. All told, FFXI is a game that THRIVES on community as one of its biggest selling points."

Now just replace every instance of 'FFXI' with 'FFXIV', and that's largely how I feel based on preference.

My other great fear is that due to the nature of my service and profession; I will no longer be able to rely on the EU/JP to be active and online when I have liberty or time-off in early morning/late nights. I won't be able to create an eastern hemisphere portion to my LS. I won't be able to interact with or appreciate the customs and differences of the world community. Hand-in-hand with the auto-translate feature.. I thought this aspect of world unity was an extremely enchanting and important aspect to the FF:Online series.

It seems the gears are already in motion though; hopefully everyone can gain and retain equally.
