    classes in 2.0

    I'm hoping classes become more useful in 2.0

    Currently stats distribution seems worthless since everyone gets the same stats.
    But if they made better gear for classes, made stats more noticeable, maybe we could see the appereance of hybrid classes.

    Maybe some class only skills or a "have a class member party bonus"?

    I agree with both of you. The fact that nobody goes Archer is beyond me. They should actually give class specific abilities to also separate them from jobs. I want to be a DD Archer.....not a singing archer who wears ridiculous clothes....

    Iirc Yoshi said that RNG would be implanted eventually, along with SAM NIN THF(I forgot where it was listed sorry ><). So that would be the DD version for a ranged class.

    Not a fan of the classes. I think the gap between classes and jobs should be widened.

    It's like those items that lower defense for more power. Why would you give up survivability if you are gonna do roughly the same damage as Thaumturge or Black Mage.

    Classes should be kinda the easy mode, you can make a few mistakes and live. Jobs should be if you make a mistake you'll most likely wipe.

    I honestly think the biggest problem was the game was going to be completely designed around classes not jobs, when they went with jobs they had to find a use for classes so now they are an afterthought. Im not sure how they would change classes drastically from their job counterparts to make it extremely noticeable.

    THM is pretty useful as class. Very differenciable from BLM.

    Now for the rest of the classes... they are basically their crippled job.

    I wish they had just gotten rid of classes when they had the chance to in the ARR remake. It's confusing having two versions of your role, and annoying to carry two sets of gear for it in most cases.
    Would have been better to have a base onion knight job or freelancer class to start off with and then expand upon it's abilities as you leveled jobs if you wanted a solo or self-tailored role. There really only needed to be one potato head class for that purpose not several. And it would have been better to keep it limited so it's available for those who liked the concept of classes but wouldn't be so in your face for the people who really were only ever interested in jobs only.

    Pretty majorly against classes myself. I just want unique job's that let people feel they bring a completely unique set of skills to a party dynamic.

    The armory system seemed like a cool idea, but I just consider it remnants of a dead concept and bad execution.
