Thank you for sharing your stories, they make me happy! It is nice to read about favorite memories, keep them coming!
@Siegtaru - You know I have met some pretty horrible folks on Balmung / Besaid as well that I would be happy to get away from, but the number of awesome people I have met strongly outnumbers them. With my luck however, I will end up on a server with more of the horrible people than the people I actually liked.
@Wubwub - I love that Nopax² guy too, he is pretty great!!
Suuuure it was. . . :P

When I first opened this thread and started reading it I couldn't even finish it because I started feeling super sad about the people I may never get to chat with again. Came back after lunch and read through it and I want to say thank you to the OP for sharing. Its the friendships that keep me playing MMOs. I have so many countless friends I've made over the years on FFXI and FFXIV that I wouldn't trade it for anything. Sure, the game is fun in its own right, but that only lasts for a little while. Its the friendships and great memories you have with the people you play with that keep you coming back.
I'm happy that 2.0 is coming, but I'm also sad that 1.0 is ending because I don't want to lose the friends that I've made. I'm not talking about the people in my shell that I talk to everyday, because I'll still talk to them regularly. Its the people I partied with once or twice that motion joyfully to me when I see them in Ul'dah that I'm worried about losing the most. I hope to see everyone again in 2.0, but there's so much uncertainty about where people will end up, or if they're coming back at all. I just hope SE does all they can to keep interest in the game over the next few months so people don't move on to other things and not come back.
Mai,
My Miqo'te friend, you were one of the first people I met in FFXIV within days of launch. We stayed friends from then on! No one else was a constant in my Eorzea life. You were the only person I could trust with anything - it helped we were the same age ^.^ Of course with that wisdom came responsibilities and RL interfered for us both. I recovered somewhat, but I know yours brought you away from FFXIV - perhaps never to return. So I lost my one good friend. I don't say that with regret, but with deep understanding and empathy. Still, FFXIV has never been exactly the same. I miss you and still hope to see you in 2.0! (you too Fubii ^.^)

Don't have screenshots but spent my last few hours saying bye to all my friends today, was sad but will most likely see them all in a few months or in beta so its all goodGot a few of their numbers to text em or whatever.
i really like this thread ^^ so im going to share my own ! =D
in my case i had my favorite people ingame end up in 1 Linkshell, except Permata Merah <3 T.T
Nume Monja
is hands down my favorite person in any MMO ive played, i first met him when i had just dinged my LNC and THM to 50 and wanted to try out the first dungeon released ingame, i had taken my char to the entrance and sat there for a few hours waiting for a party to need someone while i craft, he got me into his party, and the next day i joined the linkshell he was in, and from then onwards we played on almost daily basis, great personality and a great Player ^^
Shin Rutia Also had an impact on my Eorzea adventure, as he was the leader of the new linkshell i joined, and Turned out to be one of my favorite people ingame, he was different from previous leaders i had, more focused and serious, and he would pop out of nowhere with some of the funniest comments ive ever read, hes also a straight shooter, and i owe him a great deal.
Shai Shai joined our Linkshell and turned out to be one of the coolest most open minded people ive met ingame, how she didnt Blacklist us all when she first got on our Team Speak is beyond me, but im glad she didnt lol, and shes a great help whenever u needed her !
theres also Onii Kisaragi
and Sir Dean
, i met Dean just before he joined our linkshell, he just cracks me up, ive had allot of laughs thanks to him and consider him one of my closest XIV pals, hes up to do anything at anytime anywhere which is hella fun, when i log in and it isnt event time, i make sure to see what hes up to, to join up, hes one of the nicest people in Eorzea!
Brandon Heat , Samuraio Desax , Diablos Prime
thanks to them and a few other people 1.0 was bearable to play ^^

My best buddy until the end was......
...damnit.
Neku Sanura,
Not sure what to say, besides.. Once loved, always loved.
She opened my eyes, my mind, my heart. That, I will never forget, as she changed my life and taught me that there are some challenges that I cannot take on alone. That I should allow my friends and family, even my significant others to help me.
Before we were together, I never understood what it meant to be in love.
I don't really have any special stories (at least none worth sharing, apart from what's being drawn in some stupid comic), so I'll just post the best pics of me and my friends I've collected in order of Beta -> Present day! Feel free to insert your own stories.
