People love to nitpick at the tiny little things, hell, we had more hairstyle in alpha 2.0 then we did with Alpha 1.0. Guys should be Grateful!
1.0= 4
2.0= 8

Everything that was in 1.0 alpha got Double in 2.0 Alpha!
And there is more to come just look at this rep post!
Whilst the point 'We are not entitled to more hairstyles' does stand strong I don't believe that's the main point.People love to nitpick at the tiny little things, hell, we had more hairstyle in alpha 2.0 then we did with Alpha 1.0. Guys should be Grateful!

Those who are worried about the lack of hairstyles aren't about to leave the game, we all know this.
I'm willing to bet that players feel a lot more fear in regards to 2.0's future than a strong sense of entitlement.
Whilst we are not entitled to more features there is always the case of other games actively supply these features.
If 2.0 can't supply this then what's to say that it can supply anything else?
Not being able to compete or at least have a strong unique killer app scares the playerbase and that's where the majority of these concerns swell from.
I have stated in previous posts that I'm not jumping to conclusions, we've had information provided to us in regards to more features come launch and I really enjoyed the character creation video!
I rather them make us a Splendid game to play , then make a Fashion Design game. While I agree there should be "More hairstyles" it's not the end of the world, the game is far more important then a few measly hair designs. If you have a a Crappy game but a Top Notch Character creation, the CC will amount to nothing. If you have a Splendid game but a decent CC, the game still has a chance to shine through in which we all want more than anything I assume.Whilst the point 'We are not entitled to more hairstyles' does stand strong I don't believe that's the main point.

They can always make more hair Designs down the road and even open up a Barbershop to fix ones hair. It's not the end of the world, they can make more hair designs as ARR continues it's lifespan. If people worry about this kind of thing now, ARR might not even see the light of day come release time. Game>Aesthetics This isn't a Barbie dress up game.
This doesn't really relate back to your point of the playerbase and how they should be gratefulI rather them make us a Splendid game to play , then make a Fashion Design game. From what I can see from your post, you hold a lot of value to gameplay. There's nothing wrong with that, we're all different. I know when I was younger I would have said the same thing.
I'm now at a stage where if aesthetics and gameplay are not balanced then I quickly lose interest in single player games (multiplayer games are different, I'm engaged through competition easily, this is why I'm not incredible bummed out by the hairstyle thing and why I allowed myself to rush my character to begin with).
The aesthetic's job is to immerse the player into the world. This is the reason why educational games normally fail to engage a player as they have terrible aesthetics. If we are not engaged with FFXIV then we will see it for all it really is; a bunch of menus and buttons. If we were to take away all the aesthetics from any game then it can easily be compared to navigating Microsoft Excel.
Gameplay is always composed of several smaller games such as in a shooter you have to pull your trigger when you get your crosshair over a target whilst also scavanging for pick-ups and managing the terrain. With aesthetics to glue all of this together, games are seen for what they really are; several unimportant goals a player must achieve to progress.
If you'd like to learn about how important aesthetics are to a person like me I'd take a look at this link
And on a final note; you can take any concept and dumb it down so it sounds stupid, such as the Barbie dress-up game comment. How a person looks and dresses are important parts of the world. So important in fact that people make careers out of it.
I can easily say that all any MMO is about is running around and killing things.
There's no glitch like that in the launch version. That was a technical demo during it's Alpha and early Beta.wait.... isn't PSO2 the one with that huge disturbing glitch where the breasts don't stop bouncing... for all eternity o_O -shudders- so disturbing....http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=t9nwPK1nyI0
Yeah... I don't think that's a realistic looking game... I'm pretty sure breasts don't do that >_>
Someone receiving an answer to their "show me something better" isn't nitpicking.
All I am saying is, in a 2 year span sometimes balance with certain things are sometimes out of reach, you can always add more stuff the to CC, but if you don't have a game to show for it, it will amount to nothing. I love making characters, and my gf makes her characters for twice the time it takes me :P. At launch, need to have the very good first impression on the game. FFXI didn't have all the good CC, it was simple and to the point, yet the game was soo good that I forget to look at my character XD.This doesn't really relate back to your point of the playerbase and how they should be grateful

Everyone is different and love different things, but if we are comparing apples and oranges and if you had to choose one or the other within a two year span frame to make it. Which would you choose? Awesome CC or Awesome Game?
Sometimes in life you can't have both. At least with CC they can build upon it after launch ( if it's not up to players expectations and still retain subs) but if the game sucks at launch, they probably won;t get there players back and the game will burn down to the ground.
I want both too, don't get me wrong I really want to make this awesome looking character that I can show off in-game. I just know that the game needs to be awesome in order for the CC to really count in it.
PS: the comment about Barbie dress up game, it was just rage from a combination of things so forget I said that XD.
I'm glad is only a handful that have hair fetish like they never going to wear a hat/helmet ....the massive majority that actually play the game are fine with it its only alpha and already shows more than 1.0 CC and more is always more.. not matter how you slice it Reps need to take action and nuke these useless threadsAll I am saying is, in a 2 year span sometimes balance with certain things are sometimes out of reach, you can always add more stuff the to CC, but if you don't have a game to show for it, it will amount to nothing. Blindly following whatever Square Enix does with this game =/= Grateful. While many forum members love complaining about the smallest detail, you're the exact opposite by defending every single little nitpick. It's okay to have some complaints about the game. The devs aren't perfect and that's what we're here for anyways.
Who said anyone was blind? I'm just showing facts from 1.0 alpha and 2.0 Alpha yet there more complaining, nothing ever pleases anyone these days. Your right it's okay to have complaints about the game absolutely right.Blindly following whatever Square Enix does with this game =/= Grateful. IMHO, we should be pointing out major flaws that can cripple the game flat, not some hairstyle that can be added later in the future. Prioritize, choose what to do first that has a greater impact.
You know I was sarcasm when I typed what you quoted, yet your trying to attack me? Typical forums can't have a decent conversation without harping on someone!you're the exact opposite by defending every single little nitpick.
