If that's all you got out of PSO2's character customization, then you might have a limited imagination. Yes, you can make make characters who are disproportional, but when it comes down to it, the uniqueness that each character has in that game far surpasses what XIV has allowed.

Yea, I know it's in alpha, but Elexia posted the vid to counter the OP's point #1.

Agreed, I was MUCH more impressed by PSO2's character creator when it was revealed than the stuff shown so far for ARR (still waiting on that "flood," btw)...

Eve's looks pretty nice too from what I skimmed through, although I could've sworn that game was all about space combat... all the gameplay footage I've seen always consisted of fleets of ships fighting each other, lol.

Hell, SE could even look at non-MMORPG games like ModNation Racers (granted, that game is based entirely on user-made content), or Soul Calibur 5, or some of the old Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games for inspiration towards character creator options.

As of right now though, ARR's character creator is barely an improvement over what they originally had for 1.0, although I'm aware that they've only shown two races so far, and they're trying to prioritize their development time. They better blow us away later on though...
