    Long term idea. Mini wards.

    Were a very long ways from ever needing this, both in content and players, but something I wondered about, how about camps or outposts having mini wards, like a single ward where you can sell at outposts/camps with retainers and such things that be handy for in the field, like repair items, food, ammo, and such maybe only allow 20-30 people at a time selling and after 24 hours are removed to allow more room for people.

    Maybe now when people have nothing better to do then leave their char at random outposts for hours on end while sleeping or such, but a retainer is something that works even when your NOT there and elsewhere, it would allow finding stuff in fields or selling a way to get more ecnomy going, especially in more remote areas, I might not hang out at a camp idling, but I mgith setup a retainer there to sell stuff. right now other then dragon head, any camp outside of the first few starting areas will require heading back to town every day or so, and doesn't really give much ability to explore or just find a better camp.

    They should delete the market wards and improve their network system so that retainers can be placed anywhere in the world. The retainers could set up a booth or a mat on the ground or something displaying their wares. SE could implement a search feature that searches the zone you're in for items and then puts an indicator on your map of where to find the item you want.

    Gee, how will we ever get around that issue? Maybe by restricting retainers to certain areas?

    I agree with this 100% but if you could combine this with the OP's idea, and make outposts and small towns have combined market wards that span a global economy, that would be great. So to sum up my input: move market wards to outposts/small towns and have them be global market wards,

    I assume you're planning on not letting them be placed in areas such as: adventurer's guild, aetherytes, around the repair npcs, around the retainer bells, around the support npcs in the guilds, around the guild counters, city exits?

    What's the point then? Attaining some kind of fake sense of immersion by having hundreds of zombies standing in whichever hallway is the most popular, and probably ruining that part of the city for a lot of people? Because I think you're delusional if you think the result from your idea would be a nice, immersive city with player vendors all over the place.

    You'd get the wards outside the wards. At least the retainers don't bother anyone there and we won't even have to step in if they adjust the system as they should.

    The one or two random guys who might set up a shop by the faraway camps will be cool to have, have to admit that. That could be an entirely different idea altogether however (such as the one actually suggested by the OP), but there's no need to take steps back to implement that.
