Look at it one way, at least when you squat you're not tearing a seam in your pants! "PROV-*RIIIIIIP!!*-... oke?"
So did lalafell get knees so they could squat to use their abilities?
Old tarutaru didnt have knees. How would they use abilities???

Squats are a fantastic full body excercise and can really help to shape up your core and abs as well as strengthen your lower body.
It's going to be tough to please everyone (as usual) regardless how they handle this in ARR. As per the heated discussion in the animation thread, most people seemed to prefer fluid gameplay over more realistic animations such as the stutter before coming to a complete halt when running.
If they're removing animation lock from instants and weapon skills, things might look pretty weird when you start linking 3-4 abilities in a row and seeing you halfway perform an animation while using them. I'm in the camp where I want the gameplay to be more fluid if it means a sacrifice in animations, but I don't want the alternative to maintaining more realism to be a couple swords flashing over my head when I use an ability.
Didn't you know? We're all DBZ characters.
