Char creation disappointment?

For once, I agree with the people that want more hairstyles (not for me personally since I don't care, but for a wider audience). It is as apparent as a piece of gear, it's permanent unless they get a barber shop and I think it deserves some effort.

For Alpha, they might just have ported the existing ones and they'll release the others later in beta, who knows. It is too early to say "disappointed" since we only have the tip of the iceberg, but it is important to let the devs know that a good chunk of people care about this.

I know this is just the alpha build and all that and that things may change, but the character creation in XIV 1.0s Beta to release didn’t change much either after feedback besides adding blue/white/red to tail tips, and I know the dev team is most likely very busy with launch and testing servers – but maybe down the road they can build upon the character creation and add new hairstyles in or a barber.

Have someone a screenshot from the 1.0 alpha char creator?

If you think, the beta char creator would be not very different as the alpha creator, you should maybe more complain about only have 2 races with only 1 gender each to choose ^^

We already know we will be getting more character options. They've said this numerous times. However I don't think they've said anything about hair specifically (I might be wrong, so feel free to correct me if I am). So I'm a little vary. Especially considering hair is probably one of the more resource-heavy character options to add.

Lalafell only has four different hairdo's to choose from right now, and I hope that's now what we'll end up with this time around as well.

Yikes, people blowing up because of hairstyles. Seriously? the video is great, the character creation process looks better than ever before. However, while it may not be the most important thing game wise right now, (to add hairstyles) it certainly adds to the diversity of the game. I'm I sad there are only a handful of hair options right now? No, because this is alpha. But I certainly want them to add to this down the road. If they can't right now due to limited resources, or more important things, than that is fine, but saying that hairstyles aren't important is redundant. The point of creating a character is to make it however you like, to put things into it that you enjoy. The options you choose diversify you from the rest of the population, however small they may be. I'm fairly confident they will add more before ARR release, at least it would make sense to do so.

The hairstyle you mentioned in the OP was probably the ugliest of all the mithra hairstyles.

Basically, it was popular because people had no taste.

It was confirmed ages ago that new hairs would be available in ARR along with a in-game barbershop of sorts. You can calm your hearts now.
