Hello
So it should be okay to go ahead and uninstall the game after the 11th? Or will ARR still use the current check version/log in to update the old client?
Thanks

Would be nice to know... but I'll definately move the game from my SSD to a regular HDD ^^
well, keeping it for another day or week wont hurt
I'm 99.9% sure its going to be a different client, or else How would the Alpha players play Alpha on October 29th?
They need a different client separate from the Current FFXIV to do the Alpha Testing, in which in the end there will be a different client come ARR time.
Okay, thanks well I was just making sure too that it doesn't do a check or something to see if you had the original installed when comes time to dl the new version...
It doesn't hurt to keep it on your computer ( if your not dying for space that is), It's easy to uninstall everything, but its 10 times harder to put everything back in.
Also, when they check if you had the original they check your Account, to find if you have a Registered key activated or not.

It could be when you open up the old launcher it gets updated with a new launcher that overwrites the game.
It's perfectly OK to uninstall after the 1st, even. Nothing you do after the 1st will count. It's not like you need to play on the 11th to see the finale trailer.
The new client is just that, a new client. You will have to download it, it won't update over the old one.
Okay thanks for the info. I was hoping for an "official word" on this though...I'm probably going to do a major upgrade on my tower too during the downtime is another reason I was asking.
Thanks![]()
