Will a relic reborn change in 2.0?

I know they'll let us keep our progress, but will the quest itself be different?

As far as I know speed runs are going out the window, garuda as we know it too, the areas and NMs are too.

Seems like they are tossing all the content involved in this quest. So I'm wondering what's gonna happen.

Uh, Garuda is still there. It's just an instanced area that moves around.

NMs are easily placeable. They can toss them in whenever.

Speed runs aren't a requirement for loot drops in the dungeons, who knows if they'll be requirements for the relic quest still.

Yes ARR will be changed they said the extent depends on 1.0 acquisition rate. Speed Runs are taken out for anything but achievement, you needed them for guaranteed ARR item drop rate, so you can determine just by that it will be changing. Hamlet Defense as well is changing.

Speed run for a quest isn't and shouldn't be the same as a speed run for a boss drop.

I'd still wager there's a good chance the speed requirement will still be in. However with game changes due to moving while WSing, latency, etc it might be a lot easier (but at the same time it could be a lot more difficult) to do the speed run.

I doubt "speed runs" will exist, at least with the major focus they had with it in 1.0. The reason why we had speedruns was because of the severs limit to handle instances. If one was allowed to be in a dungeon as long as they wished then it would clog up anyone else from entering. So in order to stop this they had to make speed runs a means of getting a chance at better items in order to encourage those spamming the dungeon to get said content done asap so that others would not have to wait if said dungeon had a lot of people wanting to enter it.

Hopefully more emphasis will be placed on exploration, tactics and such, rather then bumrushing content to receive a better reward. Though alpha should be able to give us a good idea well those who can talk about it with one another a good idea as to what dungeons will offer though honestly if SE does want to entice people into 2.0 it would be good to explain how they plan on doing their dungeon concept in 2.0.

Since speed runs won't be in 2.0, perhaps we'll have to get through "hard mode" of dungeons or maybe take alternate paths and fight a series of bosses or one powerful boss.

Speed runs will still be in 2.0 but was stated they will be for achievement purposes and not for gear. I'm assuming though they could still keep speed runs in for this quest since you aren't doing it for gear drops.

i hope they stick with no speed run for other then an achievement. i hope theres progress gain not luck like we have now.
relics in ffxi gave you old currency & crap weapons thats rare/ex to upgrade to a relic to save up and spend on a npc that makes your weapon with story behind it. here you can actually gain pertty much everytime you do the event

FFXIV you have to rush and get lucky to get anywhere, then you have to get a weapon with 2 melds thats also ridiculous on meld luck. the system in ffxiv is just rushed to keep people playing. you either win or lose regardless how many time you do it.

They've already admitted that more people are getting relics than they originally intended. I'd expect the quest line to be very similar as to not mess around with people who are part way through it, but each stage to be more difficult and/or time consuming.

It's hard to say HOW it will change, but I hope it (and it's quite sure).
New game, new quest. (You will also have your progress saved, it sounds fair )
