How many retainers will we have come 2.0 ?

I'm going to have about 16 retainers. Prolly will never use them all though, haha.

Well, it would be about time for them to let us pay for extra retainers. It's been a long enough wait to be able to. I would have 0 inventory problems if they let me have paid for 1 extra retainer!!! But the reason is obviously the current instability of the current servers and the market wards.... 2.0 servers however should easily accomidate many more extra retainers, so I hope we can get more and not just through alts.

I am curious about this as well. I like having two retainers, one to sell stuff and one to store stuff I want to keep for later like crafting mats. Of course, now that you can dispatch your retainer to wards more easily, it isn't as big of a deal except for organization.

Mostly, I just want to know if I should cram all the stuff my character isn't holding onto one retainer. Maybe it is strange of me, but I kinda want to get all that "housekeeping" done before ARR so I don't spend my first time logged in dealing with a mess of stuff. xD

Pretty sure Yoshida-San said in an interview or a dev post I saw that we will only get one retainer. I have no clue how to find the info again tho it was a while back. could have changed also.

Since we all have two and have stuff on each of them they can't very well start charging for something they've already given us, unless the first retainer's capacity were increased to be big enough to hold the items from both.

Or...like planned, your extra items would be transferred to an NPC and you can get them back.

That's for your inventory, which is shrinking in size, not for retainers, which are growing in size. We've already created and customized our retainers, they're not going to take them away unless they take the system away.

Unless you hear SE say "we're taking your 2nd retainer away" then it's not happening.

I was just demonstrating how it would easily be possible for them to do the same thing if they removed a retainer.

There are other things that would be nice to know about ARR retainers too, like will they be able to hold dublicate unique items on their person and in their bazaar..

I also have 2 retainers - one for cooking ingredients, one for ores/ingots and smithing/armorer stuff. Was wondering about this too.
