    I applied the Microsoft Support patch recommended earlier : "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error in Windows 7 or Windows Vista.
    I was getting the crash several times a day, nothing to do with overheating, normally occurs when doing nothing, running or calling chocobo.
    No further crashes as yet. Also I dont get the minute or so of stuttering when I first log in.

    The problem seems to have changed, the only crashes i get now have been when calling my retainer at the point where the retainers inventory is about to be displayed, which is new for me. So the microsoft patch does seem to have modified the behaviour.

    I had that problem a while ago. Turns out the card was sagging and the heatsink lost contact with one of the GPU cores. This might be your problem, maybe not.
