I would love it. Nintendo did a similar thing when they marketed smash brothers brawl. Every day from Monday to Thursday they would release some new detail about the game, sometimes as small as a new item and sometimes as large as a new charecter.
It was a very effective marketing tactic and really ensured that everyone following it was a drooling madman by the time the game was released. It could work for an mmo too.

Anyone notice the bards shooting the mob from up on the cliff!! :3 Awesome!

Imps, Mandys, Raptors, [as well as Goblins, Qiqirn, etc..] = yes, those designs the same, the models just have higher poly-counts and better textures.
Skeletons, Ogres, Rafflesia, = no, those are actually different designs.
Don't forget, Amal'jaa, Kobalds, Ixali and Coblins are new designs and names to the FF series.
Using the same name with a new design has been done throughout the FF series - it's how the series retains its identity, but always seems new. Its the reuse of the exact same designs that some might find a bit off-putting.
Personally, I don't think it's a big deal for small mobs like Mandys though. Reusing exact designs for 'Boss/Uber Mobs' like Adamantoise can really come off as.. eh.. cheap, I guess.
I find it perfectly valid to express some disappointment over this, yet I also understand the pressures that the dev team is under, so its not a make-or-break issue for me.

An adamantoise in the Black Shroud.
Finally, this Lodestone post from back in April is beginning to make sense. I was beginning to wonder if they had forgotten about it.![]()
