Alpha Specs Say whaaaaaa

This has probably been posted and/or discussed somewhere already but look at these recommended specs taken from the alpha tester app site. Before looking though, my general rule of thumb regarding specs is that if you want to run the game at highest level you generally need a fair amount of horsepower beyond even the recommended specs. I have posted Square's *recommended specs* below:

OS Windows® 7 64 bit
CPU Intel® Core™ i5
Memory 4GB
Available space on hard disk/SSD 20GB
Graphics Card NVIDIA® Geforce® GTX 5xx Series
Screen resolution 1920x1080
Connection type Fiber optic
Connection speed 100Mbps

Realistically I would say to run the game balls to the wall you want no less than 8 gb of ram (probably 16), the newest graphics card out there, and probably a fairly robust processor (moreso than the Core i5). Personally I'm not worried about all that. I have plenty of horsepower under the hood. But wait a minute, before you shoot me down here, take a look at one thing that DOES worry me in the *recommended specs*. I have bolded it for you.

Does Square realize that Fiber Optic connection is still pretty sparse even in big cities in America? Is this going to make gameplay lag for those of us with a measely 50mb cable connection lol?

rest assured thats not what they expect of you, for playing 1/100 of that connection is more than enough.
But for downloading client and patches 100mps sure is handy, soooo in "that" aspect its "recommended"

Yeah google fiber launches in my city first in the US and I wont even get it personally until spring of 2013 and I honestly dont believe it will be that soon lol.

You are probably thinking that that's what is recommended to play the game. That is what is recommended to d/l the patches.

SE is probably just playing it safe. These specs are totally unrealistic.

thats weird they specificate intel CPU... i dont have any problem with my FX-4170
maybe they don't have any IT guys from AMD to benchmark that...im not sure why too.. lol

I actually took the time to consider moving just to get Google fiber sooner.
