On the "content finder" a wish of mine.

I don't see it being discussed elsewhere, so I wanted to toss a suggestion out there.

Please allow parties to be made across servers. Then with a party formed, allow that group to enter the content finder for raids/dungeons.

Some people in my LS might be moving to a server more local to them, and I would still like to play with them from wherever I end up.

A cross server friends list would make this pretty easy. Inviting my friends from other servers before joining the content finder as a group would be ideal.

I think it was already confirmed that we wouldn't be able to talk to players on other servers. So it won't be possible.

This is something I thought was confirmed. Kinda defeats the purpose of cross platform if I can't play with the people on other servers that I know are good.

I really hope this is not the case. And there's me thinking SE were finally bringing their servers into the 21st century. Wonder if someone at SE didn't get the memo

The only problem with this is that everyone on every server will be trying to hit me up so they can bask in my greatness. I can only handle one server at a time people.

The main reason it won't work quite that easy is you only see and can hear people you are in an "Instance" with. I.E. a special server session which you and the group is in. Once the content is over you go back out and to your respective servers. SO for example right now, running DH outside we all gather. Then go in. With content finder, once the queue is full or party rather you all appear inside the dungeon. There really is no way to pre build this group in a special instance and have them be able to chat before the content begins. It would more then double servers required and make things alot more difficult to implement.

The way I understand it, the content finder wasn't intended for difficult stuff anyway.

I'm thinking of it as a tool to find a party for content that almost no one do. (Like some level 40 quest that everyone else already completed)

Its gonna be for every instances, which mostly contains the hardest contents.

In FFXI, I was still able to send messages to friends that transferred to other servers as long as I have them on my friend list, same goes to friends I made from POL chat rooms. If the dev team can make that functionality like adding players to friend list from content finder, it would be nice.

Doesn't WoW have the option to summon friends from across servers to play on your server now? I'm pretty sure it was added recently. As long as your friend stays in your party, they can play on your server with you. Of all things to take from other MMOs, I hope they at least imitate this.
