    Hardly, I don't see chunky assed pixels on the Miqo'te like I see on the female hyur Vaan.

    Edit: I'd like to point out I am refering to the edges of his hair, skin and clothing... that and it is common knowledge that FFXII's ratios screw up on many newer televisions effectively killing what detail there was in the game.

    Well, considering that FFXII is one of the best looking PS2 games of all time, aesthetically speaking - it would be quite a compliment.

    Also, the ARR engine is absolutely amazing and is more than capable of generating something as primitive as specular highlights. My comment was more a point of curiosity as to why they haven't done it yet.

    But I'm sure they have a long enough list of things to work on first.

    That was actually a deliberate effect they were trying to create. Those aren't 'chunky pixels' it's a textured 'painterly' look.

    In fact, FFXII's textures were just as high res as FFX's (if not more) and you don't see any pixels on those either.

    I think you are possibly seeing an unlit room/face in shadows more than it not being in the code yet. The screen shots in the outdoor starry night scene have more side lighting and highlights on the face.

    Lookin great! Can't wait till we get the Chr creator for ARR. I seem to remember it was said that we would get a creator as well as a benchmark tester Pre ARR release and any Chr we make can be used in ARR when it goes live. If I remember correctly this was how they were giving us the client.

    I wonder if they will have the ability to save template Chr's like we do now or if that feature will be removed.

    Either way it is looking much better than the trailer people complained so much about. I couldn't believe there was so much controversy over it knowing it wasn't even close to a finished project they were looking at. As with any developing project things improve as they are built. You don't start with everything looking polished and perfect, has anyone seen the deleted scenes that were only half done in a Pixar or Dreamworks animated film?

    Even now it's still not finished. It is not beyond the realm of comprehension for them to add more features to the chr creation, increase the bust size, more facial options, etc.
