Or they could do battle music like Shadow of the ColossusThey should do what they did with The Last Remnant in regards to the music. It would change in battle depending on factors such as how you are doing versus the enemy: If you're getting slammed/if it's 50.50/or a sure thing. That would be really cool.
P.S. Anyone at SE. Forum Mod or not. Tell SE I said to make The Last Remnant 2!!!!
Edit: I love all music in FFXIV and don't want anything to go but my favorite ones are:
United we stand battle music
Fallen Angel
La noscea battle music
and Hamlet![]()

/nod /nodIt's really hard for me to explain D: so you'll have to bear with me a bit haha
A lot of software I know of doesn't put the tremolo at the end of a long note, or if it does it's at exactly the same place in the note each time, where as if you're playing violin for example you can pop the tremolo anywhere along the note and no two notes will sound exactly the same.
If you're playing an actual violin you can adjust the sound of each note so much but software is so limited, like the strength of each note will feel roughly the same.
There's a certain 'synthetic' sound to software engineered sounds, I can't put my finger on it or explain it very well but even though the software is great (and getting better!), generating a natural sound is something that is not easily done ><.
I hope this made some sense to you!
For some weird reason, I can hear the flute at On Windy Meadows has weird notes like not from same source. I donno like not pure lips shaking maybe tongue involved...
At Unspoken, there are some long note and in the end the note varied up and down a little, I think that's what you call tremolo up there... that's why I think it might be real...
however, I'm more afraid there is one button like the DJ's turning disc thing that they can do that minor note shifting to create the like-real-instrument effects...
I don't play flute or violin by the way... XD Just curious.
but easy part like Fallen Angel's vocal "ahhh-ahhh~~" part
or some other music sounds like lots strings instrument played together. I can tell these are from computer software...
hmm hopes it is XD
Yeah! The varied pitch moving up+ down at the end of the note is tremolo^^, I'm glad what I said made sense to you! haha, sometimes it's hard to describe what you're hearing... it's like trying to explain the color blue to a blind person lol
I am pretty sure that tremolo effects can be added via software (I think vocaloid can do this? I'm not sure on things like Kontakt etc though), but the note still sounds 'synthetic'; there's no real variance between the speed of the tremolo etc.
Music software is coming a long way, I'll be impressed when they finally master making synthesized sounds indistinguishable (haha I love that word..) from natural sounds, ie. a synth vs a violin or flute
Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
hmm...
I think I just found the worst (mixed feeling) ff14 OST ever made:
WHM 2nd job quest 2nd part
In fact, initially, I think it's super cool because I totally forgot about this music. So, I tried several way to record it down... but later when I started to listen to it little longer... the keeps repeating part, the high pitch in the end...everything started to bug me...
So, I'll add this song to my "I don't want this to be in 2.0" list.
Definitely keep Tempest. Such a great "final boss" type theme.
In all honesty, though, I'd like them to find a place for all the original music in ARR. I think this soundtrack is some of Uematsu's best work.
I personally loved the Ul'duh music. Grid was fitting, but... meh. I liked all the field tracks and leve themes, though Shroud's field theme was by far my favorite. Same with their respective battle themes, actually. I loved the bridge in both the Shroud and Thanalan fight tracks, on the rare occasions I got to hear them.City music: Grid is okay, Ul'dah... honestly doesn't really fit. It's not a bad track. Maybe something with a more Arabian feel would be better for the Sultanate. Limsa's music is good but it's kind of loud and overbearing.
Battle music: I like almost all of it, though many of the tracks take too long to get going- the battle is over before you even get to the main melody when fighting stuff close to your level.
Rivenroad, garuda, moogle fight are all awesome. Part 1 hamlet theme is well done but repetitive. part 2 theme is awesome.
Shroud: I must be one of the few who liked the original music. the newer music doesn't sound like it fits in a dark forest.
Thanalan: Don't like either of the tracks honestly, or the levequest music.
La Noscea: Probably the best of the three. The levequest music is pretty good too.
Dungeons: I like the raid dungeon music- I like the use of the dynamic music system and the non-battle portion has a nice oldschool vibe to it- However, I wish there were different themes for each dungeon instead of all of them using the same theme.
I hope the ferry music is re-used somewhere.
Chocobo music: As many have said it should just play once or twice and fade out. It would be be acceptable to keep going however if it was a bit more muted and not as loud/in your face.
Changes I'd like to have:
- Don't always separate battle themes from field themes just from entering into a single fight. It feels like it cuts off to fast unless you're already pulling the next chain before the last mob's down.
- As you said, more unique dungeon-themes while retaining or even going further with transitional dynamics
- Additional options, partly coming back to my first point. ...Can't really hurt...
Aww, I oddly love this song. Something about the title here too is especially satisfying.hmm...

WHM 2nd job quest 2nd part
The only music that made levequesting enjoyable IMO.

And even though this place was sort of a nightmare to get through, not as uplifting as the final job fight theme but it still does the trick.

I liked the fieldcraft leve music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dJ3DfCiv4o
I already mentioned it, but listen to this.
Makes me so happy. I'm going to miss this song.
