    Metal Dude, thief of Eorzea.

A friend of mine was kind enough to lend this player a staff for Ifrit fight. After this player continued to suck it up as a player, he dropped party and ignored all tells requesting he return the staff.

Do yourself a favor, and just add this guy to your blist.

I was the BLM who replaced this guy. This is really uncool and unwise thing to do. I mean, really? Trading off your reputation with a mere staff?

And nope, it's not the loaning or lending that's the problem. It's the person's alignment that's the problem.

By the way, Akuun isn't here to whine for that said friend. It's just a heads up for other players, just so he can't cause the same problem to other unknowing players out there.

And this will be the one flaw in having name changes at the beginning 2.0 if they allow it; jerks you blisted can simply change name and screw over more people before they're called out again. Hopefully they're smart enough to retroactively update blacklists based on character ID number or something rather than the actual name.

Very true...though most people like this will have no problems making their way back to all the B-Lists they earned from their previous identities. I like the post though Akuun, love it when idiots like this get called out.

I really hope the name change is publicly available for tracking, or at least the Blacklist/Friend list carry over via automatic adjustment or something. Such kind of people will have another chance to screw so many people over if they get a fresh start with clean slate.

They have yet to say if a name change is even possible.

It's just a staff for BLM, dropped from Skirmish - Giantsgall Longstaff. Which is why it's so mind-boggling to think that someone would actually steal it. Just sounds so stupid. It's not even a million nowadays. The stats are great and it helped nuke damage a lot, at least for me. Better performance for BLM in dungeon run or prime battles, I would say that's how special it is. Can also meld Materia into it.

By the way it's not the price or value of the item that matters here, but how someone was so willing to become a petty thief like that. I borrowed that very same staff once before and I returned it without even the slightest clinging-feeling to it. So I can't understand why Metal Dude fled the party with a mere staff.
