With the new (smaller) zones I would like to see something like Conquest from XI.
In FFXI, there was Conquest, Besieged and Campaign which determined what rewards/items were offered for sale/trade in the main cities and for what prices. They were dependent on player participation to affect the outcome and the "political layout" of the land.
Oh and also this...
and this...
actual good looking female human characters? Yes for the love of god please. All, and I personally mean ALL the female hyur models look hideous.
FFXI's system didn't prevent undercutting at all. People still did it constantly just as they do in this game. Undercutting in fact is what keeps prices from inflating (durrrr). It is what will prevent prices from being out of control as some people are preditcing with the redenomination. What I hated about XI's system is you had to guess what the lowest price was- if you bid more, you paid more, and the person with the lowest price sold the item and gets the higher amount you paid anyway. If anything this encourages undercutting more than being able to see the prices. At least with XIV's system you don't have to guess what you're going to pay- You also aren't obligated to buy the cheapest one- and no matter which item you buy, you know how much you are paying and the buyer knows how much they are receiving. Undercutting is part of every economy, be it video game or real life. You have to accept that it exists and that it will happen no matter what you try to do about it.If you look at the market prior to the Atomos event, I'd make arguments towards it fluctuating as much as it did just due to the price of something being right in your face. FFXI only had a price history; everything else was guesswork. Some undercutting ensued, but for the most part things stayed stable if supply levels were normal. If FFXIV kept price history but didn't show what an item was listed for and only showed how many were listed, it MAY balance things out some, but nothing is certain.
Simple fact: if there is an above average supply of an item, people will be able to under cut because there are so many available- people dont want to pay high prices for a common good. If the supply drops, people aren't able to undercut because it doesn't help them sell faster, so they raise their price in order to get more out of each sale.
Supply and demand people. High supply= "undercutting," low supply = "price gouging" Either way, someone always wins and someone always loses.

1. large scale full linkshell events (dynamisis type not dynamisis copy)
1. party play missions (epic battles all laced into it)
1. tons of NM's with meaningful drops
1. events that can be done 24/7 (like sky/sea not copies)
1. solo classes (like bst and pup, but make them important to endgame too)
1. keep grind leveling ala ffxi (sb type leveling was fun, keep it an option)
1. caps (make it worse then ffxi, caps on anything you can think of)
1. make exploring or running around zones dangerous, (i want to feel like there are parts where i'ma die if not careful)
1. low drop rate items worth the time and effort for ..lots of them. (keep the players who play happy too)
1. create a system that was like gear swapping but without swapping or blinking (aka making farming 10different body types of same class worth doing. maybe adding everything from each piece to one body)
1. would love furniture back, miss that from carpentry (think it's for sure on way)
1. party play party play party play party play party play party play party play party play party play

1. 1. 1. 1. lol couldn't help but notice that.
Gear swapping sucks, no thanks. I don't want to carry 60 pieces of gear for a single job just to be considered acceptable.
If you like XI's grind better, go play XI.1. keep grind leveling ala ffxi (sb type leveling was fun, keep it an option)
Every class is able to play solo. Don't want special classes just for that purpose. Such classes were never relevant in XI. These classes were "solo classes" because they (in the view of the community, I don't necessarily agree with the statement) sucked- not because they were built for solo play.1. solo classes (like bst and pup, but make them important to endgame too)
Currently every event in the game can be done essentially 24/71. events that can be done 24/7 (like sky/sea not copies)
Everything in the game except levequests is party play already.1. party play missions (epic battles all laced into it)
Larger scale events are already on the way.1. large scale full linkshell events (dynamisis type not dynamisis copy)
Yes, we're probably going to get furniture because we're getting a seemingly robust housing system. Makes sense and I support the notion.1. would love furniture back, miss that from carpentry (think it's for sure on way)
woot we agree on 1. thing. glad i listed them all as 1. lol see we agree with everything. you rock.1. 1. 1. 1. lol couldn't help but notice that.

well i added to it that they should make it so we dont' carry 60pieces. each piece is probably only good for like 1 battle but rather then keep them all, let 1 piece of gear obtain the stat from other body pieces. like paralyze is easier to land, combine both pieces. that will also keep all content worth doing just to have that one stat extra on your main.
If you like XI's grind better, go play XI.
i would if it was the same game, it's worse then this one in it's leveling i hear. stop telling people to go to another game, i'm sure there are plenty of mmo's you can just go to as well. and none of them already had an epic mmo like ffxi under there wings to compare to.

well i meant we all should be forced into party play and have solo classes that are just as important end game wise. like ffxi as this is a ffxi thread for ffxiv.
Currently every event in the game can be done essentially 24/7
yes but i mean not repeated instanced but stuff like sky basically larger versions of beastmen camps, but way more epic loot worth the time to do. something 30-64people would love to do 7days a week all day long if wanted too.
Everything in the game except levequests is party play already.
when i said missions i meant the main story line, via COP in ffxi, every expansion main story had tons of epic fights in them. we solo'd the first set in ffxiv witch is total fails. you would of thought at least the last one would of been epic group battle.
Larger scale events are already on the way.
yeah i'm glad they on way, i would love to see at least 1 of these every expansion for the people who play a lot. they are a reason to log in all week and have fun with the same group every time.
Yes, we're probably going to get furniture because we're getting a seemingly robust housing system. Makes sense and I support the notion.
I like how Ingolf made a legitimate thread with somewhat reasonable requests to be taken from FFXI, and then ten people just straight up ask for FFXI-2.
well if we just need 1 thing i'd say full linkshell events is all i need to enjoy a mmo for years. technically asking for that is almost like asking for half the things others are asking for cause they probably would add all them things to these said events.
I wasn't expecting better tbh. I meant to word my original post better but it was done in a rush. A ton of people took the hump at the fact that I liked HNM.
I liked XI because it was XI and I like XIV because it's XIV. I wish people would stop demanding one game be transformed into the other.i would if it was the same game, it's worse then this one in it's leveling i hear. stop telling people to go to another game, i'm sure there are plenty of mmo's you can just go to as well. and none of them already had an epic mmo like ffxi under there wings to compare to.
The main scenario is being totally redone. None of your complaints about it are relevant because the old main scenario is going away.when i said missions i meant the main story line, via COP in ffxi, every expansion main story had tons of epic fights in them. we solo'd the first set in ffxiv witch is total fails. you would of thought at least the last one would of been epic group battle.
I like HNM if they're popped, or if they don't have multi-day respawn timers with hours long windows you have to sit through between pop possibilities. I don't like HNM that require you to keep track of how many days its been a "normal" vs "HQ" HNM, , make you wait for excessive amounts of time when you could be doing something that's actually fun, etc.I wasn't expecting better tbh. I meant to word my original post better but it was done in a rush. A ton of people took the hump at the fact that I liked HNM.
I liked XI's HNMs because battling them was fun. I didn't however like the waiting game or the pulling clusterfluff.
How old are you... 6?woot we agree on 1. thing. glad i listed them all as 1. lol see we agree with everything. you rock.

Oh, neither was I. I don't even know why I felt the urge to point that out. With these forums it's pretty much a given.
Say something from FFXI sounds like a bad idea. WELL YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW AMAZING FFXI WAS YOU JUST WANT ANOTHER WOW CLONE.
Say you want an idea from FFXI. YEAH LET'S ADD THAT AND GEAR SWAP AND LEVEL CAPS AND MAAT AND A BUNCH OF OTHER ASININE STUFF.
That said I would like to see better HNMs. Open world and instanced. I would also love for them to have their own theme, and be worthy of having that said NM theme.
Also Job quests that have you explore the entire world, since that was really what made FFXI great. The exploration.
