We will get it but the fight will be against eachother guild companies lol with a castle that seems to be like the white tower from LOTR so expect 2 guild companies trying to get in with 3 primals flying around destroying invaders and the castle XD will be funI can't really see conquest the history really does not set the story line up for it...unless its just alliance territory v/s beastmen and garleans... besieged i think would only work like if we had an outpost in mhordona / outside of gridiana/alamihgo border where were constantly fighting control for a castle or something against garleans... can work with beastmen...
With the new (smaller) zones I would like to see something like Conquest from XI.
In FFXI, there was Conquest, Besieged and Campaign which determined what rewards/items were offered for sale/trade in the main cities and for what prices. They were dependent on player participation to affect the outcome and the "political layout" of the land.
Oh and also this...
and this...
actual good looking female human characters? Yes for the love of god please. All, and I personally mean ALL the female hyur models look hideous.
The only thing I'd want from FFXI in FFXIV is a quick, efficient, and less buggy UI, and were getting that so nothing.

Remember the NPC shops in FFXI?
They were closed at certain times of the day and on certain days of the week. Also, they had a limited supply of items per day, and they could sell out.
I'm not sure if this would necessarily be a great import into FFXIV, but it did give the shops their own life and it made the world feel more real.
One thing that would be more realistic (and would shut down pseudo-exploits like the 'Dawn Drop' fiasco) is if every NPC had a limited amount of gil they could spend on buying things per day or a smart supply-and-demand dynamic pricing model.
After a certain quantity of item 'X' is either bought or sold, the NPC buy/sell price for item 'X' would be adjusted accordingly.
I think this would make the cities and economy of FFXIV seem a bit more real and the NPCs seem less like cardboard cutouts.

Rienheart would agree
The only thing I want from XI are remembered characters, which is something XIV lacks greatly in comparison.

It doesn't really help that most of the NPCs are just the same guys in the character creator with specific armor sets anyone can get.
The guild leaders are a step in the right direction, and the concept art for some of the new guys looks promising.
Definitely. We had Shanttoto..Prishe..Aphmau..Raubahn..Cid's nightmare inducing grin..Lady Lilith/Lilisette..Dazi Nosuk because c'mon SE you knew what you were doing..the Star Onion Brigade..just countless NPCs. XIV most people don't care if you let the majority burn in hell and be reborn to hopefully something with more personality lol.
I'm more interested in what XIV can do to set itself apart from XI in a good way, not in what XIV can do to be more like XI. Let XI be XI and let XIV do its own thing.
The only things XIV should take from XI are things that were also in other FFs (various jobs and mobs from the bestiary) that people have always been wanting.
Magitek from FFVI.
Crystal Tower from FFIII.
Golden Saucer type location from FFVII/FFXIII-2.
Typhoon from VI.
Fenrir from XI.
Amon from FFIII.
Chocobo Raising/Racing from FFVII, IX and XI.
XIV is a fanservice game, they already stepped into the realm of borrowing ideas and designs from a previous FF game.
