The final hour is on the 11th, before the LFTP Live. At some point after that, the 30%+ that voted to keep the servers up will "need to ignore the inconsistencies in story line."

Knowing SE's capabilities, until I see what LFTP XXXV talks about or it's November 12 and the joke's on me, I'm expecting something to happen.

What part of the current story could be contradicted when we can access the servers again after the 11th? What, they're going to spend software engineer time to remove Dalamud, Atomos, the Undead etc so that people can hang out together? Why bother?

We don't yet have the whole story. Nobody knows when or if we'll actually get it, but the hints are out there. Yoshi can easily say don't mention client update in the data save notice so that people don't speculate about it.

Or on the 12th, he can just say never mind, the grand finale was all just a prank, LFTP XXXV was a joke, just ignore all that stuff in the tabloids because it's all just about getting the shiny purple-named things and damn all that scrolling text is annoying. Yea. Just uninstall on the 31st.
