I would kill for a phone app that lets me communicate with LS/Company members while offline. Hopefully with an option to get peoples' phones to vibrate or something once there are enough people available for a full party =P

Npt sure about the crafting/gathering but I like the rest ofyour ideas...especially getting rested XP for going for a run in real life
I think the devs did me tion using an app for the auction house/wards. Really like this idea. When i loady retainer up with a crapload of expensive stuff and i cant wait to check if it sold. Would be cool to be able to check and also move items at will.
Also if theres a particular item i want to buy (been trying to buy a militia scythe forever). Ill log in and see the only one was posted and sold before i had a chance to log in. Would be great to flag an item and get an alert i it gets posted. Also to be able to purchase said item remotely.

If S-E don't do something like this, I'd happily buy an app from my smartphone store that did for £0.69.

The feedback has been fun to read and I am happy that there has been a bevvy of opinions given. All these would be great, their implementation may not be feasible, but every one is meant to enhance play of the game inside the actual game. To bid on that militia scythe like what was mentioned above similar to the eBay app, or to go for a job and not just feel good physically but know your hard work is helping your character be the best s/he can be too. By having the option to take care of the ancillary (though not necessarily less important) things outside the game that means when you log in you can jump right into the adventure of a quest, event, or the like.
I won't dismiss the fact that it can be fun or relaxing to craft/harvest inside the game as an activity, however! But in a modern, busy world it helps to make these options available. I've read a lot of posts that count back to the days of yore MMOs (XI in particular, I have my own fond memories of that game too) describing the challenge of it and how that is a benchmark of quality in some cases. Well, if I can do some basic stuff offline that gives me more time to, say, practice Garuda or Nevermore runs instead of using my logged-in time trying to scrape up a few BASIC things.
Plus this could incorporate other aspects that the fan community has brought up like "vanity slots" (maybe you could change your clothes through the app) or even the bestiary idea! I may be a little Lala but my dreams are big!
