What do you people think would have been better

if 2.0 was a new game dropping the FFxiV name just go ARR
-which mean your back to lvl 1 all job and prgression

or

Go with what they are doing now
-keep the ffxiv at the end of the ARR name and changing most/somethings

My personal opnion is new game, but i am fine with what they are doing now
-reasoning being is well getting away from the ffxiv name may be the better thing
-Its a new game, you more less remade the engine why not just say f it
-reuse what you have in ffxiv (yes reuse)
-amory system may or may not stay
-not tied to the current story possible even still use it

I think the current solution is the best one. Forcing everyone to start fresh when they have worked on their character for 2 years probably wouldn't have made them happy and if you really want to start fresh you still have that option on the new players server.
