Capes fit well in into the middle age'ish fantasy settings. However the only reason to why I haven't missed them is that I think that it reduces the visibility of the gear.

That why display Cape On/OFF and allow the people who want cape be display for them. I can care less but if the other want it i don't see why not,.

Thank you Zenaku. Yes, a common mmo mechanic that allows capes to be toggled from the UI/Chat Window. Easy fix. Also, I'm thinking capes should stay epic and only on the backs of level 20's and up. AF armor would benefit most.

I agree only jobs should have capes and each cape would make sense for that Job. THF could have a AC type cape, samurai can have a bleach type cape there so much SE can do with this and seeing how we getting a new game and they thinking of adding jump and other stuff why not capes.

Capes sound great! I liked how they were in Aion, they let us put a logo on it and stuff..could toggle it on and off too hehe was nice![]()
Like what Rentahamster posted from Foxclon's recent posts, there aren't currently any plans to implement capes due to the high cost to the engine associated with them.

It's possible, but still, while you may see some fancy cape physics in a game like Batman, Arkham Assylum, it's just one character on screen. If everyone in town was wearing a cape that had full cape physics, that would be very taxing on your system, directX11 or not. Here's hoping they can find a solution eventually, though.

True that. The reason it works in other mmo's is because their graphics are not nearly as high quality as FFXIV's (hence the flat polygonal squares as capes in WoW). The capes would need to match the HQ level we currently have. I was hoping for part of the solution to be for capes to be exclusive to elite gears like AF armor, thus less people running around with full-on physics flowing capes. It's possible, but still, while you may see some fancy cape physics in a game like Batman, Arkham Assylum, it's just one character on screen. Either way, I'm still very happy with the amount of cloth physics we have presently. It was great to get a response from Bay about it too.
