I'm extremely for the use of data books; specifically if they're implemented in a manner that's both aesthetically pleasing and informative.
For example, if i were to imagine opening a book cataloging the various flora and fauna in a given location, I am wont to visualizing a charmingly rustic tome with quaint depictions of whatever i was searching for, with perhaps a paragraph or more detailing said item.

I imagine something like this, with some scribbled text next to it and as you skip through the pages of the book turn.



Hell they could just use the concept art images, that would save them a heap of time!
