Actually, you're the one with the burden of proof here. You're claiming that them making seasonal content is significantly effecting their ability to fix other things.
Prove it.
I point to all the posters who are outright laughing their asses off on other forums, yet again, at Square Enix.
Game's a disaster. Holiday time! The third one in six months will surely do the trick.
It reinforces their image of this game.
Why not?
It doesn't take too much effort to organize an event and actually people are having fun during event. Instead of gaining bad image, I think they're gaining good image, thinking about real life holidays and transmuting into game holiday events in order to let us have fun during our holiday.
I still... can't get it why not.
I think I get it now! Peregrine has decided to become a troll for April Fools!
lol Now it all makes sense.
I don't even care if it delays them or not. I say it does, because they're clearly working on holiday event after holiday event bto the point where these stupid things make up MOST of our total combined new content, as worthless and cheap as they are. But again, the biggest issue is that holiday events make them look bad, because it looks like these things are the primary solution to their problems.
Where is the new battle engine? Looks like they've been jerking around with a spring holiday event instead. That's not how it is, you say? Oh it sure looks that way. We've been waiting on a new battle engine since the last holiday event.
Where are the chocobos? Oh well we got 18 quests that are about the worst gameplay I've seen in a decade of MMO play instead. That's not how it is? It LOOKS like that's how it is.
Image. Fix it. If you can't fix the game in a timely fashion, at the very least don't bumble the image of you doing so.
It looks HORRIBLE to people on the fence about playing this game when the majority of your published updates involve holiday events and quests that bomb. This is not that hard a concept. The major criticism of this game is that it has superficial content that lacks any real meaning, where it has content at all.
And you're going to publish that you're doing another holiday event so that they see you engage in a superficial content that lacks any real meaning in a game they think has superficial content that lacks any real meaning? Come on now. Bad decision.
You do not announce a new national spring holiday when your nation is in disrepair. What holliday are we commemorating here? Our induction into the endangered species list?
The problem is, Kaeden, for Peregrine, SE is not moving fast enough to cater to her/his needs. That is the problem with several others on these boards - those that still play the game and the majority of those that have stopped playing this game but choose to float around and jump in on the band wagon.
I already said this in another thread but I will be a broken record here. Events were a big deal in FFXI. It just appears SE is bringing that familiarity to FFXIV because it does please some people. It pleases me and I look forward to it. How about you all do the same and let the development team bring some joy to some people instead of you guys poo-pooing their nice gesture(s). We are in no way saying we are pacified. We do expect that content - rest assured. Just realize people like me are not sitting up here every minute we have continuing to b**** and moan all over the place when SE is not serving things to us on a silver platter.
They are really not fast enough, admit it
and stop talking about "programming isn't easy like you think..." I knew, but this is too slow even if you compare them to programmer standard
Saying that something else didn't happen is not evidence that something that did happen is the cause.
You have no proof that the battle system fixes or chocobos or whatever else isn't released because they made seasonal content. You have absolutely no evidence that it effected the timing of the release of other fixes at all.
I actually find this quite hilarious, since when the seasonal content was released, the same people screaming now were the ones saying how simplistic and easy it was to make the seasonal content and were "amazed" that it took so long to release. But now, because it suits their argument, they're changing their tune to say, "oh, that seasonal content takes a lot of work, so it's delaying the other stuff".
Sorry guys, flipping stances 180 degrees to make your argument work doesn't fly.
I dont understand what is the big deal with the holidays quests .They suck anyways.Personally wouldnt care less if they are there or not.
Arent they all the same copy paste bell crap ?I would think that can be done in couple of minutes with some text added. So it does not really hinders development.
then again personally i dont see a big point to do them at all , they all the same repetitive meaningless crap.
Is my opinion anyways , i know some of you find them most entertaining.
