Aren't holiday quests a waste of development time and effort right now?

I think it's pretty safe to assume that they're trying to hide from you that the easter event IS patch 1.17, and the "preparation for PVE content..." is buzzwords for "we don't really have a whole hell of a lot else still other than minor tweaking.

If they had something more than eggs, they would have led with more than eggs folks. You have to learn to catch them on their bull****. You are letting them fail this game as hard as they please.

I'm less for patience today. All this complaining, a good lot of you need to be sent to the time-out chair.

They don't have to hide anything. They don't have to say anything. They can fail at their own game as hard as they please. I appreciate that I can give feedback and be heard, but at the end of the day, it's their game, not mine. I'm not catching any bull from them, but I'm sure catching it from a lot of the posters today.

As another poster said in another thread, the game is in development. If you can't handle that, then please do make good on your threats and go do something else. It's one thing to be upset about the state of the game. It's another to throw a temper tantrum because the babysitter gave you dum dums instead of a candy bar. The rest of us would like to enjoy our dum dums in peace.

Right. All of these holiday events create 1 new set of gear (graphics design). Are the developers done with blm whm monk paladin, dark knight, dragoon, and warrior gear? No. They aren't. Get to work on that then and don't give me some stupid spring skirt. All of these holidays create new animations for consumables (motion capture, graphics design). Are the developers done with spell animation overhauls and new action animations for the meleers? No. They're not. Get to work on that and don't give me fireworks. All these events take coding and troubleshooting. Does epiphany work? No, it does not.

I have a list of gear they could be making if they need ideas.
In mining alone, how about they start with the R47 pickaxe and level-appropriate boots that match the rest of the outfit. Balance quarrying. Put copper ore at G5. That's a start.

I'm sorry, but that is all I see in this post. Want to influence change? Want to be constructive? Create a poll on whether or not SE should fore-go seasonal events until substantial changes are made. Make a suggestion thread that allows people to /sign IF the agree to you.

The main reason people are disappointed with the letter is because this is all we got, while Yoshi-P said 70% of the update was prep we didn't get a lot of info on it. I know they don't want to make an official statement on anything but since he was talking about endgame dungeons you'd at least expect to hear something about class changes or something else about the battle system wouldn't you?

Let's face it, out of all the things that could have been talked about nobody was expecting to hear the letter mostly talk about an easter event when there are 3 things he's been talking about but we never seemed to get any info on. We still know nothing about companies when they pretty much seem to have the groundwork laid out and then some, battle adjustments is a pretty vauge term so out of all the things he posted in that table you'd expect for him to have some of the ideas set in motion, and then in the 4th letter he mentioned something about "introduction of new synthesis concepts" which we haven't got anything about either.

So call me a troll, crazy, or whatever you want, but out of all the stuff he mentioned can you really blame people for not liking the biggest thing to come out of the 6th letter a holiday event?

I'm not blaming people for not liking it, I'm saying they are making a big deal when there doesn't need to be. The content isn't ready. They are making things ready for it. All of the complaining in the world won't change that or make it ready any faster, and it just makes the environment here very disagreeable.
