Um... I think he was pointing out that MMO meant multiplayer online, therefore multiple people playing together at the same time, not single player game soloing EVERYTHING just a few things to show some progress without relying on others fully.MMO is not really a genre. It's more like a platform.
MMOJRPG could be considered a genre, I guess. Or "MMOFPS" or "Sandbox MMO" or "Themepark MMO". But MMO on its own doesn't describe much in the way of the demographics playing the games nor the types of games possible under the banner of "MMO". And I think many developers - Yoshi especially - have fallen prey to the idea that MMOs are supposed to all be the same.
