I functioned just fine in FFXI without PT's. I learned how to do very difficult low man content when it called for it. I also learned how to do stuff on my own that people went in groups with if I had to...because even in FFXI a lot of peoples playing was not up to my standard. Not saying I am THE BESTEST I just get frustrated lol. I loved EXPing in groups though...it was fun

In FFXIV I have only come across a very small handful of people who can play their job. Most people play horribly (wipe after wipe) and leave my boyfriend and I very frustrated. Our other friend Nemo noticed it too. Hardly anyone knows how to play their job. If PUG parties improve after 2.0 then awesome...

At least in FFXI forced grouping SOMEWHAT forced people to learn the basics of their job. Of course there were still lots of bad players but not nearly as many in FFXIV. I really do hope Yoshida's new way of leveling helps people learn their jobs well.
