No they won't enjoy what you did back then. Did you enjoy the same things as your parents when you were a kid? Most likely not. (Could it be movies, music, books, etc.)
Video games/MMOs are no different. Customers evolve, games need to adapt.
Implying other genres aren't becoming easier as well. If you take offline FF, say hi to "Retry" feature. Gameover don't even have a meaning any more, you can just restart any fight when you want. You're not even forced to die.but why are mmo's getting stupider and stupider to play and dumbed down while all other genre are being taken up a notch.
Fail your opening? No problem => restart. We are far from old RPG where you had to do a 30-60 minutes dungeon before getting to the final boss and you were put in a "stressful" situation because failing would mean do the whole dungeon again.
Sure few niche game are still becoming harder and harder with time (some fighters but also music games or sports games etc.) but these were games that were already hard to master and competitive back in the days.
