Well Limit-Break.. Crystal tower, the enemies, the lore itself.... etc. pp is not really copy&paste to me
Don't dwell in the past, the company is called Square Enix.
They're taking aspects from Final Fantasy games like the Crystal Tower, Gold Saucer, job system, Magitek, and features that actually work in other MMO games.
Don't read everything what Rokien post
Rokien is a Manipulator! "Beware of Dog"! BARK!
I agree, when game gets too easy there's no feeling of accomplishment. A lot of people wants the easy route.
Plus contents and the lifespan of the game gets old and feels like a chore quickly.
Example of difficulty such as demon souls and dark souls gives gamers longevity and both games have excellent reviews.
More and more people learn about those 2 games and the popularity rises. It's niche market kind of game and I know it's not an mmo, but it sure proved thatIt can survive in this generation of too easy games.
Holding your hand kind of game is nice for the lazy and I want to reach lvl 75 in one day people, but the problem with that is they start demanding the game is too easy and doesn't offer the value of the game.
I believe ff series should stay in the path of medium to high difficulty because it offer the true feeling putting efforts and team work toward that accomplishment.

I wasn't aware that 2.0 was going to be a easy mode hand holder.I agree, when game gets too easy there's no feeling of accomplishment. A lot of people wants the easy route.

dark soul have a very tiny niche of players, not enought to keep a mmorpg running. Btw, the game isn't heading anywhere with difficulty. All the 1.0 fights are quite difficult for the medium player, the real problem per se was the fact it get old fast with every new patch.
But understandable, since the game was remodeled, so a lot of thing changed fast and old content wasn't changed according. What OP is agains is the fact ARR is looking more like a modern mmo instead the one he like.
You're talking of a guy who had the nerves to post this, mind you:
If it's not about fan service, this game is a complete joke.
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY IMPLEMENT CRYSTAL TOWER?
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY IMPLEMENT GOLDEN SAUCER?
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY IMPLEMENT MAGITEK?
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY IMPLEMENT A CARD GAME?
Pretty sure they have other things that they are going to implement from past FF.
Which makes me wonder, why didn't they fan service their core mmo players, *cough* ffxi *cough*
Hmm all this sounds familiar. HEY YOSHI, THOSE WORKED GREAT IN THE PAST, BUT LEAVE THE PAST IN THE PAST, STOP THE NOSTALGIA! PEOPLE HERE DON'T WANT THAT!

if XIV keeps on the track it seems to be going, it looks like i'll be drooling over everquest hype so thanks for informing me about it, OP.

Okay, so, if a thread is over a week old, it's probably not worth bumping unless you have something real significant to contribute to it.
