I for one am content with the amount of info that's come out so far for ARR. Have you been looking at the translations threads, both JP & DE? Reps have been dropping tidbits for weeks now. Short of completely describing how a system (be it housing, markets, combat) works, there's little else they can do. Other FF games never described how they worked before they became available to the public, so why should XIV be any different? Discovery and analysis is part of the experience!

If you consider the benchmark software to be more interesting than a community storytelling event, that's your preference but surely you can see that a decent number players of a Final Fantasy game might be interested in this?

I am, and not as a contestant, but because the wide variety of talent in the community will make the submissions interesting to read (more interesting than being able to check my projected, but ultimately subject-to-change framerate). I love the comics we've had over the years. And I'll be VERY surprised if Bastok_Iamtheone doesn't hands-down win this particular competition.
