Why should I play FFXIV?

I know FFXIV has been going through a lot of changes since it's original launch, and since then a lot of other MMOs have emerged onto the market. My question is simple. Why should I play FFXIV as opposed to GW2, WoW, TSW, TERA, SWTOR, any other MMO really?

an easy answer is if you have to ask then maybe you shouldn't, because you apparently cant make the decision for yourself
