actually the road map lumps closed beta, open beta, and pc 2.0 free trial period all in one, and makes no distinction of when one begins nor ends.It has been reported all over the place and on the forums that ARR is NOT launching until after JANUARY 2013. Not sure where you are getting this bogus information as I can guarantee you there is NO source detailing a Nov/Dec launch.
In fact, the roadmap clearly states the Open beta starts in January. So how could they launch while the game is still in beta???? This is not speculation.
The only things lumped in are the PS3 beta was supposed to begin after the PC alpha started which was the End of Sept and Early Oct, which is the time frame they threw around countless times the last year. How could PS3 beta start before the PC alpha even starts? That's when you have to think for just a second about what they actually means. The PC free trial is obviously what we're doing now..we're no longer being charged for the game while transitioning over to ARR.

Just to prove my point since you are unable to prove yours:The only things lumped in are the PS3 beta was supposed to begin after the PC alpha started which was the End of Sept and Early Oct, which is the time frame they threw around countless times the last year. So basically you've linked to proof that its launching after Jan 2013.... here is the exact quote from that document:No one has said anything about 3-4 month downtime. This is purely player speculation and negativity at work.
SE has said that they envisage the launch of ARR for the New Year. As in November and December - that's two months downtime. I have a very hard time believing they would push this back beyond winter break.

So again, I ask where your source is that launch is going to happen in Nov/Dec???

That's basically whats going to happen, Having only 1 month of beta is suicide :P. That's why it's on the road map, except we don;t know when "after" Jan 2013 the game will launch. after January the road map is useless to follow (unless they make a new one :P).
This is exactly what they're supposed to do especially if dates are getting off, even so much as updating older roadmaps. They had no trouble doing this for FFXI lol, even the ToAU timeline was followed very closely, only exceptions were major systems that got pushed back due to "balance issues".

Winning comment.
Dates are subject to change, so of course their was never a guarantee that things SHOULD be on schedule. Why are people such whiners?
And I bet if SE released the game quickly and it was terribad, they would whine more claiming the game should have been worked on more.
\(O_o)/ I don't even...
