    HQ food bonus, but what about medicine?

    So, it was mentioned by the devs that they feel as though the bonus to HQ food is too small and will be improved. What about drugs? A difference of +10% for a Mega-Potion of Strength hardly seems worth it, right? Going from +40 STR to +44 won't make a big difference, so no one really has an interest in it and there is no market for it.

    Also, separately, why not allow repeated use of medication? Just as in real life, over-use of medication has negative effects. If the 4-minute timer for re-use has not passed, why not force us into Weakened status? I think it would be a pretty fair and fun thing to add into the game. A third use would result in Brink of Death.

    I think the brink of death idea is good in The Witcher they had toxicity and it was really cool, but I dont think it will go in FF. FF is too light hearted for these kind of things - specially with Yoshida at the helm :P (not meant to be offensive - but he literally said "I don't want people to fall too far because in this game it would have to be too realistic" i.e. jumping at great heights will probably have invisible walls as he doesn't want suicide)

    However medicines need a real revamp, that they only work for a minute is a real downer.

    To make a difference between food and medicine I've thought (these are already in FF just not exaggerated enough)

    Food has more minor benefits (+5% exp, +5% hp, +1 regen, +1 strength)
    Medicine has potent benefits in singular stats (+20 strength) **
    Food lasts hour(s) - dungeon length, medicine 30 mins - boss length
    Can have 1 drink, 1 meal active

    Here you can introduce a little negativity by saying medicine has potent positives but also negatives (like in real life if you've ever read the back of a medicine bottle "may cause . . . . . . . . impressively fast speaking man goes here"). So +20% Strength -10% evasion or something like that, medicine solves one issue but sometimes causes another.

    Amount of medicines should probably be around 2 (alchemy needs more money makers lol).

    I agree that Medicine effects wear too quickly right now, but I wouldn't go beyond 75sec duration for NQ and 90sec for HQ.

    They should last long enough to pull off at least a few TP moves or Spells.


    30 min is overkill though, you might as well just super-power all food bonuses - and there wouldn't be much of a point to food at all...

    Still, I really do like the idea of balancing the bonuses with negative side-effects - you might be on to something there.

    What if the cooldown on medicines was removed, and instead you gained an cumulative risk of being afflicted with a status ailment like poison, blind, gravity, paralyze, sleep, amnesia, weakness, or even 'brink of death' if you consumed too many medicines in a row?

    It would be a fun place for players to balance risk/reward in difficult battles.

    Well if you increase your duration I agree they should from a 1.0 stand point be reduced in potency. But you can then add a little potency back because of the introduction to side effects.

    Perhaps 10 minutes. All I know is unless you macro it into a spell you dont really get to effectively use the potions and the difference is like 20 damage. So either super power the potency or just make it a more present average (longer) - that's my feeling at least.

    How about steroids? If you take one, not much happens, but if you take a lot, your balls shrink and you get giant muscles.

    First STR potion works normally. Use two and you're unable to use ANY meds for 30 mins, get double STR, and your balls shrink... or Brink of Death... or Gravity effect maybe?

    Some interesting ideas in this thread! While revisions and changes have yet to be finalized, the team is currently working towards separating the timers of things like healing medications, buff items, and enfeebling items. We'll be sure to keep you updated as progress... progresses.

    I don't know if there's been any announcement or promise about HQ searching function in the Market Wards, or if you guys have discussed this or got a solution in mind or not, but while we're talking about HQ items, I'd like to pitch this in:

    It is now almost impossible to ever search for some certain HQ items because the list is not separated between NQ and HQ. First I think a function to choose to list search result from either lowest price or highest price might be good, but after seeing how so many vendor put stuff in Retainer Bazaar for 999,999,999 or something like that, I don't think this will suffice. It would be much, much better to just list NQ and HQ items separately, at least in the search result, so that buyers can look for HQ items easier.
