I carry gear for 4 jobs, a tool for every craft, food, 5 stacks of dark matter and the AF armor for all those jobs and I'm @116 slots so if I placed the AFs in storage, and put away some of the gear I don't always use I'll be within 100 slots.

I don't think that would be possible while carrying gear for all 7 jobs, nor do I think anybody should be doing that to begin with. Just because you can change to anything on the spot doesn't mean that you should. in FFXI we carried gear for 2-3 jobs on us and left the rest at the Mog House since we had to go back there to change jobs anyway so there was no need to carry all that junk on us. (inventory was like 80 slots max)

I guess in ARR with the client lag removed, gear sets implemented (gear in sets don't take inventory slots) and the extra characters/retainers to store stuff on, living with 100 slots won't be an issue.

Also we can't say that SE wont expand our inventory space via quests or charging us for space which was the whole idea behind the retainer gimmick.

You'll live lol. Archers no longer need to carry arrows, no more throwing weapons, the mannequin system will relieve some slots. Honestly you'll also probably have to pick and choose from time to time. Do you really need all your crafting mats if you're going out to run a dungeon or do some leves? We'll find out more as time goes but you'll have to learn to live with it.

One thing that makes it difficult for me to manage my inventory is having to repair everything to 100% to trade/sell. This is going to be even more annoying with the implementation of the DBOX.

To fix this, I have leveled most of my DoH to 50 over the last few weeks - minus Blacksmith, I don't think I'm going to have time. And minus ALC/CUL which are useless for repairs. I just got so tired of searching for repairs, waiting for repairs, shouting for repairs.

I question the people that say you don't "need" to carry around X,Y,Z. I carry around event items, fireworks, dated clothing, other stuff just because its fun to do so. Reducing inventory and having to eliminate the 'fun' from my inventory seems sort of well .... anti-fun. I guess mmorpgs are more work than fun most of the time but they don't have to be.

SE take note: Micro-managing my inventory IS NOT FUN.

Same here: its your own fault if you gonna get troubles with inv space. There is no need of carry all these junk around and if I want to i need throw out some other stuff...

In FFXI you had 1 class you played somewhere, you didn't have to bring gear for more than 1 job. Doing an AV speedrun I end up playing WHM, then BLM, then MNK - thats 3 times as much to carry around - then food, pots,dm,crafting stuff, ....

    too much.

Well as you basically stated, you carry around shit you honestly don't need to 24/7. Fireworks? Fun items, waste of space if you're hurting for space. Dated items? SB fodder unless you play dress up over tangible stat items.

There's nothing wrong with dressing up. I daren't think of what would become of my sanity were I not have my star-spangled subligar on my person at all times, yet your argument is valid.
However, I don't understand why players who delight in carrying on them strange trinkets and other such items for the sake of vanity ought be punished. It would be simple enough a problem to solve were they to implement a vanity item slot/ inventory and perhaps a seperate space for consumable items such as confetti or fireworks. Somewhat akin to how we store crystals and shards as of right now. I think it would benefit all a great deal.

Dated Canvas gear is better than the GC crafting gear. Not all dated items have subpar stats.
