So the point of this is what then? It would seem this is an attempt to reward those who actually spend time and don't get lucky? But as stated, anyone who wants the gear in the first place isn't going to settle for anything less than the actual gear itself.

If your going to add guaranteed seal drops make them turned in for the same piece, just make it more than 10. If someone runs 50+ successful Moogle/Ifrit/Garuda/Titan/w/e runs and still doesn't have the piece they want, they deserve to get it on merit alone. Hence the seals.

Don't offer a carrot, then break it in half and throw it in the mud.

From what I gather, the point of this is giving you something for your time, while not reducing the amount of time required to clear the content.
Let's take a single static Full Party, that's eight people. Number of drops per boss is 2-3 we roll with the smaller, 2. Let's also presume there are 4 drops in the boss. In four runs, the entire party gets one item each, let's say we are luck and only need one set of runs per drop, that's eight runs.
So in eight runs you get the full party outfitted. But in those eight runs, there a problem. While you're dumping all the drops on the players one-by-one, the other guys are doing runs and coming out dry, nothing to show for their effort, while some people are getting stuff on their first run. Sure, that's play-chosen now who's the 'lucky' one rather than RNG but it still happens. So they give you a token for a lesser gear of your choice, probably similar in function to the gear you're hunting for, it'll support your next run but it will still make you finish more runs for the item you want.

They're an incentive to just keep trying to get that golden item, really. "Here, you're getting there, just a bit more effort. Look how nice this one is, the other one's even better, have faith!"

A handfull of players in this thread have said they would willingly settle for gear purchased via tokens that are slightly less powerfull than the boss dropped versions...

I cant like your post enough. Well said. I dont want a broken carrot thats been thrown in the mud. Although I will keep my mouth closed till i see it implemented. As a person used to being consider very unlucky I know what its like to run dungeon after dungeon and wait till everyone else has it so I can get. Which involoves rebuilding a group with new memebers because a good majority of people bail once they get what they want. P.S. If you on Durandal and lookn for some loyal peeps to run with, hit me up.

I EAT THEM RAWWW AND WRIGGLING...

    Wait.. whatever.

Rep pweeezz talk to Yoshi about making an expensive full version by tokens. While it wont be the main way to obtain full versions at least this way even under the shittiest circumstances our time isn't wasted.

We understand that content has to be spammed otherwise it wont be rare but don't make the the spam against the RNG - that's why we asked for a new loot system in the first place.

(the weaker item versions sounds like a fast relief but depending on how weak they are it is just a useless bribe, and if they are too strong then two stat difference few will care to work for the HQ - unless that is the point... to deter people from wanting to work for the HQ as a way to make them rare)

Maybe the dropped gear is Uber Powerful but Rare/EX and Unmeldable...

...and maybe the "token-purchased" gear is weaker but is meldable to be equal to the Rare/Ex Drop?

    Maybe that would be work?
