Thread: 2.0 expansion or update?

It's a patch at most, but also can be classified as an expansion, it's a upgraded version of FFXIV, if it was classified as a "new game" it would be called a "Remake" or a "Rehash" of the same game as the original but with upgraded data and new content



It's the same game, we are just getting a upgraded version

i'm sorry, but i don't recall getting to carry my player info, player level, and items over to the -2 versions of either of those. when i started either of those games i started as level 1 and didn't have any items because they were new games. this is not the case here so you are completely wrong on your comparison.

don't you think its funny its FFXIV 2.0 ..there the "2" with it. All country are changing. then why is FFXIV Was not called FFXI-2 ??? we couldnt move our character but all character look same but different name..and if you say the story is different of the XI hummmm ..All the city are being remake and all is different from 1.X and 2.0 so what wrong with just calling it FFXIV-2 anyway ...

i'm not sure exactly how me pointing out just how extremely wrong you are says that i'm upset, but you can read into it whatever you want. it doesn't change the fact that it's wrong. it's because they are completely different games. they start you off from level 1 because the game doesn't carry anything over from the previous version including character progress, in game money, or items acquired. all of these transfer over so they are NOT releasing a completely new game.

i don't classify this as an expansion pack nor a patch either, but it is not a completely new game.

Or just called it a reborn of the game, what they did in the new title.
