    2.0 expansion or update?

    So is this going to be classified as an update or are we going to have to purchase 2.0 as an expansion?

    Just to provide some clarity: You don't have to be a current player. If you've ever bought and played XIV in the past, you'll get the client for free.

    Same if you've joined through using the code provided in the collectors edition box.

    As long as you have an XIV account under services on your SE login page, you're not required to buy anything more (even if the account isn't paid for currently).

    It is a new game with new client you need to install

    After 11/11 you can uninstall the old FF XIV from your PC
