Dev-Question: Possible Name Changes at ARR Launch?

I'm not sure if this has been addressed already or not but I have a question in regards to ARR launch.

I know that current players (1.0 players) will have the option of changing their character's appearance at the launch of A Realm Reborn, however my question to the devs is, is there a possibility that we (current 1.0 players) will have the option of changing our character's name as well?

Just wondering if this has been taken into consideration.

They had mentioned the possibility, but they also said it would be hard to do(can't exactly remember the reason as to why it would be difficult). I hope so, for the sake of the people who will want to change genders and have names that only suit male or female lol. But yeah, an update on this info would be nice ^^

As we stated before, existing players will receive a one-time chance to change the appearance, race, and gender of their characters.

As far as the name change goes, we are currently doing everything in our powers to make sure we are able to meet your expectation.

Ah ok so it has been posted already, thanx Raldo. I must have missed that discussion.

I really hope we get the option to change our names. I made my character as a joke character. I didn't think I would be playing for more than a few weeks. When those few weeks turned into two years, the joke grew stale.
