I just started having this issue as well. Have not been able to play more than 10-20 mins at a time for last 3 days. Nothing has changed on my System. I have done no updates in last 3 days. Drivers are up to date. My internet seems to be working very well for everything else Netflix etc.
Issue resolved for me and many others. I had DC occurring from 10 minutes to 1 hour after each login. Seemingly on some days and not others, making it difficult to find the cause. After a month of researching amongst trial and error this is the solution that has kept me online indefinitely.
The Culprit: "The Simple Service Discovery Protocol (SSDP) is a network protocol based on the Internet Protocol Suite for advertisement and discovery of network services and presence information."
Solution: Start > search: services.msc > SSDP Discovery: properties > startup type: disabled. Reboot.
This service is not necessary for UPnP operations and will randomly start up, completely maxing out your bandwith and latency until FFXIV begins to lose packets and inevitably disconnects.
