So the sheep shouts "Save me" and the wolf drops by and says "No one touches my food!".

Yeah. That just doesn't seem to make sense.
I can understand creatures that have established in-game relationships (e.g. Imps & Wolves), or have some biological kinship (e.g. Chigoes & Swarms, Funguars & Roselings). But natural enemies shouldn't be calling each other for help. Plants shouldn't be calling animals for help, animals shouldn't call plants for help ... and prey shouldn't be teaming up with predators.
Cats and dogs living together! Don't cross the streams!Yeah. That just doesn't seem to make sense.

Well, I can kinda see your point, but I don't think plants and animals are "natural enemies" there are a lot of animals that have symbiotic relationships to plants, such as those ants that live in the pods of Acacia plants.

Anyway, the "lore" issues don't really bother me. They're all enemy mobs, as far as I'm concerned. The positive gameplay implications of this change are of a higher priority, in my opinion.
