Rested XP while servers are down?

And I think it should be too.. We will power through the rest of our classes as new people pander and cant keep up with our already advanced asses.

Also SE needs the new content to last while they work on more and letting us go through it faster wont help them out.

No, you will not gain Rested XP when servers are down.

This is because they are doing a final save, and then reapplying that save state to ARR.

This means the time from Servers go down, to time ARR goes up 0 minutes will have passed = no rest XP because no time passed in game, no saves, no updates etc.

(also for those that care, Rest XP doesn't build during server maintenance.... just think of this as a really long maint.)

well with that thought then anima shouldn't build back yet forgive me if i'm wrong but remember the Earthquake in Japan last year or this year and they shut down the servers. Everyone magically had capped anima after that week or so so i think that there could be a possibility for maxed out rested exp if they keep it in the game and that person logs out from inn. and they did do a complete shut down of the server at that time to conserve power...

um no it didn't because there were people on the forums making complaint threads that they didn't build up anima.

A full week of rested exp will only get you into the teens from lvl 1. Its not a big deal whatever way they decide to do it.

Same with me I had full anima when they came back up and i had maybe 30 when it went down.

It would be great if we had rest exp. by the time servers for ARR went up but it still doesn't cancel the fact of a weeks cap of rested exp.

Also, even if I think it would be great(even awesome at that), it would go against the lore and not make any sense. If you think about it, from the time Dalamud touched down(1.0) and ARR(2.0), when we reappear, if we would have literally rested during that time-gap, we would've been pretty OLD.

In actuality, time stopped for us between the two realms and we don't get any resting bonus until we find a new home and log out for the night.
