Afair they actually said that exping will be slower in general. It was just made so fast in 1.0 because of lack of mid-content and etc.People say harder because the exp rate at 50 > 51 seems 160k+ more xp, however SE is throwing in the Quest Grind system which is basically doing the same c/p quest over and over and throw in a leveling dungeon here and there and you'll be maxed out pretty quickly.
Unless of course they don't get that system right and we actually can monster grind and the like, then it'll probably 'harder' if PLing is taken out.
That's mostly assuming PLing is out of the equation though, since it takes about that long now to get from 1-30+ normally with leves, but throw in pling its barely 2 hrs.

Well with level sync forced on dungeons and over world monsters giving crappy exp PL will be severely hampered. Can "maybe" PL people through their quests, maybe.

Rested XP is a pretty common mechanic in modern MMOs, so I don't see why it wouldn't be in ARR.

Considering that it's an incentive to relieve strain on the servers, by way of moving your character data to a temp holding space, I think it will be in 2.0.

I guess our rested exp start with 0 again right at the ARR launch.
I think rested bonus should stay, but just for crafting/gathering. I am getting so tired of seeing people who PL classes and dont have the first clue on how to play them.
I dont have an issue with PL'ing, but come on guys. Learn to play a job before you do it in endgame content. I actually had someone say to me in game "oh? Whm has nukes!?". I had to /facepalm in rl there. This person had a 50 whm.
Im thinking part of their reasoning for the quest based system is to force people to learn the mechanics of each job. +1 to them for that.

And how would getting rid of rested xp for DoW/M help? People like that would still get PL'ed, even if it is a little slower.I think rested bonus should stay, but just for crafting/gathering. I am getting so tired of seeing people who PL classes and dont have the first clue on how to play them.

I think i need to clarify. IF they decide to get rid of it I'd like to see it stay for crafting and gathering. Oure right in that it makes no difference for battle classes. It gets used up so quickly it might as well not exist.
