    FFXIV ARR Market Wards Prices

I been thinking about the mess that 2.0 Market Wards is going to be since nobody is really going to know how much to price items for. Some people is going to over price items, some will under price.

My question to the community is, do you think that SE needs to save the price history on the items from the Market Wards and included it in 2.0. That way when 2.0 launches next year and players put their items for sale, they will have a base price history as a guideline to start balancing the Market.

Example : Undyed Felt current 9,000 gil = ARR 900 gil.

So when someone start selling Undyed Felt in ARR, they will see a price history of 900 Gil from 1.0 on their screen and used that as a base to set a price closed to what it was.

Do you have a better recommendation to SE to deal with the Market in ARR?

No matter what they do everything will be overpriced in the beginning unless S-E puts a limit on how much you can price a certain item. I remember when 1.0 launched. Bronze dagger for 20k, haub for 300-500k. It's just how MMO launches are, probably just gonna have to give the wards some time once they release the game. We also need to know how hard/easy stuff are to farm/craft. Undyed Felt might be so easy to get that even 900 gil is to much.

Whilst this would be a nice idea I don't think it's necessary.

Whilst a lot of people believe prices will be everywhere (and with the way our markets work right now, who's to blame them) I honestly doubt more than 10% of the current population will recall how much items were selling for before.
For example, Darksteel nugget +1 was about 130k last I bought it (about a month ago), I doubt that's how much it goes for now and I doubt that if I were taken away from the game for 4 months that I'll be able to recall that without having it written down.

If Darksteel nugget +1 is still going for 130k when 2.0 is live then I'll remove my shoelaces and serve myself some spaghetti.

I'd like to mention that I have said 4 months but this is just a number I've pulled out of my bum. Let's not make it the source of conversation.

The gil issue is only temporary and we'll thank Yoshida a year down the line for doing it.

All I really want in the market wards is for it to be fast and easy to check how much and items sells for and placing your own item up. At the moment it takes way too many clicks, moving around and time. No wonder people undercut like the Reaper.

The prices at launch of 1.0 was only because there was not something to used as a base and the lack of items in the market. Just like everything in the game so far, the person that gets to put a new item for sale in the market; get to overpriced it because is the only one.

Comes ARR launch that will not be the case, everyone will still have all of their items, I don't think nobody is going to remember what the items were selling for before at launch. But if SE save the last price history for players to used as a based, the transition in the Market will go more smooth and the Market will balance faster and not have to wait over a month to buy items at a decent price because you will have a information to base your items in relation to what it was in 1.0.

We already have lot of MMOs out there where no price history is available. It's a non-issue. If you play the game enough, you have a rough idea about the price of items. Then demand and supply does the rest. If it sells way too fast, it means you can price it for more, if it doesn't sell for a while, price is too high.

Rift have absolutely no price history and the Auction House works just fine.

If something is overpriced... it will not sell. Noone will force you to buy it. If you do buy it then obviously it wasn't overpriced, as it was worth the cost to you.

Prices will fall to where they need to be regardless of everyones whining or how many threads get made.

Nobody knew how much to price items for when the game came out, and we still got to where we are now. It's not going to be an issue. Seriously, people need to stop worrying about this. Economies develop over time. Nothing is going to be perfect right away- it will all settle in after some time passes.
