Thanks for the translation, I'm kinda surprised about the 1280x544 resolution, but apparently it has something to do with the buffer size for 3D output on the PS3... Does that mean the PS3 can't have native 1080p output? o.o

Thanks for the summary. Lots of good news in there, but I'm particularly curious about this new lot/token system for raids. I really hope it doesn't mean horrible re-entry times.

I'm very interested in how they handle this. Especially with the auto group feature. I could see a free company getting key item to enter and get guaranteed drops. But you only get so many key items per week. Then the non key item runs its for tokens only or super low chance of item+tokens.

I think this might be how they do it since you can only be in 1 free company at a time. This helps prevent abuse of multi key items from each free company etc.

Yeah sadly this is true..however if they are selling the game to places besides Japan, and appealing to many diverse places, they really need to get with the times and release the info simultaneously. At least if they had the reps posting it at the same time there would be nothing wrong with that. Jeez, if it wasn't for these wonderful people taking time out of their day to translate for us we would have no idea about any of this stuff until WAY later! ; ; (If at all)

I am really excited to see the Gambit system...I hope it makes the game more like FFXI (dont kill me please) back in the day when it was fun! Where you could do things with pick ups because the fights were not luck based, but skill based because the mob had a set pattern it followed...it was consistent, etc. Not like Garuda in FFXIV where it is part skill part luck based. Anyway that's just my opinion....either way this game is looking great

Kerwin has issues understanding the concept of company native to x location will release information to it's x home consumer base first and foremost because their language happens to be x as well, just like WoW news never hits China or Japan properly.

They probably will update the site by time alpha starts oitherwise that site serves little purpose even as a 'teaser site' lol. Also I highly doubt it would be on lodestone since lodestone is for 1.0 info, not ARR information. Anything that universally pertains to both present and future XIV will be on lodestone, i.e Billing practices or data conversions (like the differences between the two versions)..otherwise don't expect too much on lodestone.

I'm pretty sure everyone will have to pick a new starting class, and you will just login as that class regardless of what you logged out as or originally started as.

They are taking DoH/L away from starting class choices so if they did it the way you said what happens if you started as DoH/L?

Your home city becomes Mordion Gaol (GM Jail) obviously.

I really think that the home city change will only affect new players. Probably because of the whole new quest system and unlocking the armory and such. There is no point in doing stuff to old players.

You start in the city the guild is in, so for DoH/L it would be ...the city the guild is in.

Though as Gokulo said, it will probably just for new players.

If that boss is Amon, then Yoshi-P doesn't know his lore as well as he thinks. Amon is a pallet swap of Hein, and the concept art uses Hein colors. If they outright said "Amon", then I'm sorry but Yoshi-P has lost a bit of my respect.

The Gambit system is one of the best SE has built for a FF game (FFXII).

The only issue with them was they could put the game on auto-pilot - something that would have been easily fixed by disabling them for the main char.. but w/e

Its great to see them in FFXIV though~

Hopefully they are customizable for our Choco and can be upgraded/modified as we see fit.

FFXI was my first main entry into the series (I played a little bit of FFVIII, FFX, and FFX-2 at my friends' houses) to play and own, but I haven't played any of the older ones. So, I'm a bit confused with what the Gambit system is about. Is it much different than the system we have now in the game?
