It's been a while since I leveled but I remember spending a lot of my time at Camp Blad Knoll in Western La Noscea. Go there and try to catch the Hamlet fish. You won't catch them all the time, but when you do you get a bit of extra exp and also the benefits of the fish themselves (sell them or use them for Hamlet points)

I cant speak for fishing (35 atm). But for Botany i went leves all the way. For 2 leves at treespeak i was pulling an average of 10k. It starts to go by fast, although it takes a few days.

Semi-related, but should be almost the same. I took miner from 8 (some how I was 8 for a loooooonnnggg time) to 50 in two weeks recently. Started on 9/24/12 and finished 10/08/12 (http://xivpads.com/?5360878) all with leves, gathering scrolls and rested exp (always log out in your inn).

It was my last 50 for a reason... Just grind leves, over, and over, and over... So boring but not much else you can do about it >_>"

    NP ^_^

Most important thing is the salt water / fresh water. Always make sure the bait matches the water type, beyond that you can narrow it down to a particular fish if you really want but you will catch stuff in general so long as you have the right "water type" on your bait.
