    A solution to "Temporary session is invalid. Please try again later"

    Hello all for the first time ever since the official forums were launched (and when was that again? ) Finally my life is complete...

    For as long as the forums were up, I've always had this issue of being unable to log in to post anything - this message "Temporary session is invalid. Please try again later" would always come up, and I'd be stuck just reading the forum without any chance to chip my 2.14 cents worth in. I've tried to access the forum through a number of different browsers (Firefox, IE, am a Chrome user) without success. There was a forum thread on this issue like in April 2011 but there was no resolution (by any devs) to that problem. Turns out the couple of people who had that problem were players from my home country of Singapore.

    The funny thing is my Lodestone blog and profile is up and active, and I do have several rants on this issue there... I find it funny that as a paying customer, this forum service was not made available to me. Also found a couple of South-East Asian players through my Lodestone blog (from Indonesia and the Philippines) with the same problem.

    I've actually sent in two emails to SE Support.... and..... zilch

    Well anyway I should have thought of this sooner, but just moments earlier it suddenly struck me to use an anonymous proxy to access the forum and.... wallah!!! So if anyone of you affected manage to read this...

    ..just copy and paste the Lodestone official forum URL into an appropriate anon proxy e.g. www.zend2.com, access the forum within the proxy website, and click on the Square Enix logo at the top right hand corner of the page. Once you log in with your username and password, they'll prompt you to enter a forum username (which can be different than your IGN) and there you go. I did encounter a problem while trying to choose my main character in the Settings, so what I did was I logged out, closed the anonymous proxy browser, and tried logging in under a normal browser window.. and it worked!

    I guess I'm going to have a different experience playing this game (since day 1!) now that I'll be able to interact here as well!



    Now if only SE would allow me to take part in that contest to win tickets to that exclusive FF 25th Anniversary event to happen in London.... (/cry)

    i never felt the need to register in the past (cos i never felt the need to post)

    but recently i had to address the issue to access another similar forum here.

    I found that for me not just any proxy works.. I had to use a US one (i used texas proxy) in order for the registration thing to pop up the first time and have no problems with login anymore.

    I sincerely hopes SE disables this proxy region restriction thing because its onerous of them to believe that only people living in Japan, EU and North America play their game.

    well, be careful when using proxy because SE detect IP adress
    The next time you able to log using different proxy, you could get your account banned

    So even as a legitimate paying customer (oh for goodness sake) I could get my account banned?
    I feel like I'm being silenced for no reason whatsover.
    And I'm still here, and have been posting for quite a bit.

    This has been an issue even with FF XI, where registered paying players from countries around my region (specifically Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, not too sure about Hong Kong) have problems with Square Enix support because, we're not supported (see the entire list of supported countries here). I do not see any reason why they are not able to extend their support to us.

    Shouldn't all legitimate paying customers have equal rights to game support? Almost everything's done by email nowadays so geographical location shouldn't be an excuse. After all, SE support DID respond to me just last week when I tried unsuccessfully to start my ARR alpha test procedures upon successful selection (WHY I got accepted I have no idea), but after learning that I was from Singapore, they said they couldn't do anything else about it.

    It'll be worth a shot, so I'll be putting up an online petition soon to Square Enix to have my country and several others mentioned earlier included in SE support services. After all, shouldn't you guys agree that all legitimate paying customers be accorded with the same level of game support... at the very least?

    They won't ban you, why would they. If you're not using a security token, your account might get disabled and you will have to reset your password, though.

    hmm, ok not banned, but temporary withold, and you have to change your password. Happen so many time to me since Im also using proxy (yes, Im also from the region, Indonesia). One of the silly example is when I first installed the game at my office back in March 2011, then i went home to log using different kind of connection. my first account withhold ever on my first attempt (well second actually) ever!

    I've had this problem happen at work. The error sticks around for about 1/2 of the day, but then poof -- I'm able to log in without an issue.

    I've never been able to determine the reason for the error. It never happens at home, I've always assumed it had something to do with the servers at work, even though it never made a ton of sense since it always eventually just starts to 'magically' work.

    I had no idea there were people experiencing it as a permanent error though. That would be frustrating.
