Ask me how long I had to wear the ugly orange shirt for!!!!It was there in my early levels and then it appeared again in my middle levels! Different shirt exact same design. Ohh dear.

as opposed to this

Seen here, FFXI armor looked a lot less bland and more "fantasy", even though we didn't get to dye them. I'm not even talking about later level gear in XI's instance. That tunic is lv8 and it looks better than XIV's (and it doesn't make me look bald... lol). XIV's armor just feels like the same thing every couple levels BUT OH LOOK brighter colors!! ...You know? I'd rather have interesting looking gear than have brighter colors every couple levels. lol

I wanted an HD FFXI for a long time. It would probably take years of man hours though. Even Blizzard won't re-release wow and that game makes billions. The thing with FFXI is that they would have to update a lot of the grinds for re-release because today it would be very anachronistic. I think the level of thinking prevalent at SE today will kill this possibility in the near future though.
Honestly, I'd totally go for this.
I would like FFXI HD or FFXI-2 aswell. If they just built off of the lore XI started instead of something new we wouldn't have most of these problems we have now. Everyone would love to see and hear about what happened to their fave NPC 10,000 years from the current day in XI not to mention it would fit right in with the empire and new technology. And it's not earth so changing around the continents and making them different places would be easy enough to fit in. ifrit's cauldron could have erupted and turned the jungle into something like pompeii an ash land of petrified ton-berry's hell even adventurers.
I rip the axe from the head Covered in blood and brains Leave the body lying dead Ready to strike again
My sword cuts through clothes and skin Like a hot knife cuts through snow I smile as the bastard screams When I twist my sword
Sword in my hand Axe on my side Valhalla awaits me Soon I will die Bear skin on my back Wolf jaw on my head Valhalla awaits me When I'm dead
Viking Job Please!
Hmm... Well, to be honest, I loved FFXI. Not going to even try to deny it. It's my favorite MMO, period.
That being said, I've done enough in FFXI for it to be old now. I've played most of the classes as far as I want to take them, and I've done all the missions I can do.
What I really want is for the same quality of craftsmanship put into FFXI to be present in FFXIV. I want a good story. I want a class system that isn't catering to people with mental disabilities. I want almost everything that FFXI had, but better.
The absolute worst thing about FFXI was how long it took to get something accomplished. That's why only hard-core players could really get far in it. Most classes had to group together and be efficient in getting high EXP/hour. Unfortunately, the major reason I quit FFXI was I stopped having the time to play it for hours on end.
FFXIV was advertised as FFXI for people with little time to play. Why did SE lie?! Every time I log into FFXIV, I just sigh and wonder about it being feasible to rejoin FFXI. But then I remember how long it takes to level, and the fact that I've done most of the content in the game.... I'm just looking for something that is new, but has the same caliber of quality that FFXI did.
If they remade FFXI, I'd probably play it. But I would like to have new objectives. I left a little bit before they increased the level cap, because I didn't have the time to really play anymore, and I felt like I had already "done" most everything. RoZ, CoP, ToA, WotG.... I think the only thing I hadn't done was get Rank 10 in each country, but that's not a good enough reason to stay in the game.
The mini-packs were cool, though. But I don't think I'd want to see too many more of them. It kind of sucked that I had to pay for a mini-expansion that just gave better gear.
I want adventure! I want epic battles! I want some air-ships and chocobos! And I want my &@^! pimp-hat! (And to actually be a Red Mage, and not this crap we have for classes).
Anyone else feel that way?
i really really miss my optical hat from XI. if i could just have that again i'd be perfectly happy.
They chose to make XIV purely because they didn't want to upgrade XI and outdate the PS2.
To do that they have to cancel PS2 which they wont. They can't recode it for the ps3 because it would take too long for that they make a new game for the ps3 which is FFXIV. I think FFXI is dead and just should leave it as it is now there noting else they can do for it.
Nah just let em walk the plank!
But seriously lol, when i first saw FFXIV i was hoping it was going to be FFXI-2, when i saw the same races in the teaser trailer i thought it was going to be Vana'diel but like waaaay far in the past or something, then i saw that "Project Rapture" video and thought that would be one of the starting cities in FFXIV, but it wasnt which made me kinda sadso if they make this game more similar to FFXI i wouldnt mind :P.
